08/11/2018 15:18 | Hoping it wil red | stevenrevell
08/11/2018 13:48 | Highly unlikely. Why do you think it will rise another 12% in the next 7 weeks? | redtom1
08/11/2018 13:31 | Will I get £70 before takeover? | stevenrevell
08/11/2018 13:06 | Unlikely but they'll waste a huge amount of money trying! Just as the Republicans did with Democrat Pres Bill Clinton. For gold or Randgolds fortunes to rest on Pres Trump's impeachment is a long stretch. Tom's analysis is much closer to the situation Randgold holders are now in. Was hoping another buyer might come fwd especially as the Canadian tax implication should Barrick merger go ahead is a big worry. | keylifeskills1
08/11/2018 11:11 | foxy22, absolutely. Only fx movements overnight (plus/minus a change to Barrick expectation based on external factors, eg price fo gold) to build in. | redtom1
08/11/2018 09:47 | Gold randgold adr is a good way to track Opening price obviously from usd conversion | foxy22
08/11/2018 08:42 | The RRS share price is driven by the Barrick Gold share price and not normal market forces. Given that Barrick closed lower than it was when London closed, RRS had to fall at the opening. All eyes on the Gold price and the impact to Barrick. Not looking too promising so far. Gold needs a new boost to head towards $1250+. Can't see anything on the immediate horizon. | redtom1
08/11/2018 08:26 | Why such a drop | foxy22
07/11/2018 21:32 | Big drop in price in morning, sadly. | redtom1
07/11/2018 14:37 | Extremely thin.... | redtom1
07/11/2018 14:24 | I want 70 by dec what's my chances | stevenrevell
07/11/2018 11:15 | Chris, the US dollar has weakened verses GBP but Gold price has picked up which has increased likely opening price of Barrick. This combo values RRS in low £64s. If gold can hold or rise a bit further and the Canadian/US markets react positively this afternoon, you may get closer to your allusive £65! | redtom1
06/11/2018 15:36 | Tom, will Trump lose the lower house elections had any effect on the US$ tonight? He will probably win the senate but not the other and will not be able to pass his laws so easily. | christh
06/11/2018 14:57 | Chris, all gone pear shaped again! not today. | redtom1
06/11/2018 10:51 | Chris, not sure about a spike. The current RRS price is already building in an increase in Barrick. The current market expectation is Barrick opening at 13.29. This equates to about £62.50 based on current FX and share for share exchange. As on about £1.60 to £1.70 for dividend premium then we are on £64.1 - £64.2. | redtom1
06/11/2018 09:37 | Tom, good luck. So at 2:30pm will see the big spike in the shareprice | christh
06/11/2018 09:28 | I hope you are right. Difficult to call. A surprise in the US midterms would help gold price perhaps but not sure. As you say, if Barrick shareholders see this as positive they could push the Barrick price back to $13.5 which would push RRS north of £65. | redtom1
06/11/2018 09:19 | Tom, I am sure Barrick will rise today as Randgold results are excellent. Barrick shareholders will be very pleased as they already approved the takeover. You'll never know, might hit £66 as the momentum gathers strength. | christh
06/11/2018 08:46 | Possibly. I guess it depends on How Barrick performs off the back of these good results. If investors think Barrick is picking up a bargain then they could re-rate Barrick shares pushing RRS northwards. Let's hope so. | redtom1
06/11/2018 08:04 | surely it should test £65 today as results are excellent | christh
06/11/2018 07:58 | results out today PROFIT UP 25% increased production | christh
05/11/2018 16:15 | Chris, only just seen your post and its already dropped to 6310p so not today. A surprise in the US elections could influence it but I don't think that will do it. But I do think that the Iran sanctions issue could come into play. If the Iranians do anything stupid or threatening, this could be positive for gold. The problem is that Gold is struggling to rise beyond 1230. It needs a good solid base before breaking above 1250 on the way to 1300+. When this happens RRS will go above £65 and possibly £70. But who knows! | redtom1 |
