Morning revell40 - haven't looked, but will do. Pretty tied up today, but I'll get back on that one.

Was just going to say, another possible big fly in the ointment today is the non-farm US payrolls at 1.30pm our time.

If they show more than 200,000 jobs created in December I think gold could fall another $8 or so as it could indicate another Fed hike sooner rather than later.

Bit of a dodgy day to be in the markets at least until 1.31pm - see how it goes.

Morning blueball. I hope you are right, but I think £64.50-£65 is more likely.

Correlation points don't add up, and gold has risen $50+ in a few weeks, so a fair bit of profit to come off the table.

Let's see, only ten mins to go.

Good morning.

Just reading my correlation points viz a viz the price of gold v RRS. As I said yesterday evening, we are around £1-£1.50 ahead of the game in any case, and the $6 slippage in gold overnight points to a pull back to the £64.50-£65 area some time today.

One word of warning, and one excellent article that cements the current gold price.

Firstly, if you do the correlation, and look back around six months, the share price of RRS is now ahead of the game viz a viz the gold price.

Currently as I type this, spot is $1182 up $16 and RRS is around £67.

The correlation with the gold price means RRS should be around £67.50 with a $1200 gold price.

So, we are around about £1.50 ahead of the game, so vulnerable to a short-term pullback.

Here, however is the good and excellent news. Fiat money now tops $15TRN in the US alone.

If that isn't a clarion call for gold to move higher, I don't know what is.

Nice seeing £67 having been adding at £55 while people were considering a retest of the sub £50 level.

Signs of stagflation.

So prices are rising, GDP isn't, and rates can't rise due to debt.

Check out the gold chart of the 70s to see what happens.

And throw in Brexit, EU, China, Trump and general systemic risk.
