Yup - but that makes a BIG difference. Buying kilo gold bars will move the price a lot quicker than the odd necklace or ring.

giles - I wouldn't bank on it. At midnight last night it was up $3.25 - it's now down $1.75, although in the big scheme of things $5 per oz doesn't make any difference to Randgold's bottom line.

They are still making a clear $300 per oz profit.

It's going to break out decisively to either side very soon.

May be asking a bit much blueball, but gold is certainly preparing itself for a long run up. All the fundamentals are there.

To gently recover like that is a bullish sign for gold. Obviously the FED's actions on Wednesday are already priced in, but I don't buy the story there will be three more hikes next year. Two at the most I think.
