Reminds me a bit of housebuilders in 2008/9. All grouped in same basket despite clear differences in the way the businesses are run/geared/etc.

Excellent post by KCR69Debenhams Concessions - Putting the risk into perspective.2017 Act (Admissions document)Deb Concessions £18mTotal Concessions £24mTotal UK (Bricks & Mortar) £57.5mTotal Online £11.9mTotal International £16mTotal Group £89.8m (includes discontinued business)2018 Act (audited accounts) / Ests (my own)Deb Concessions £19.5mTotal Concessions £26mTotal UK (Bricks & Mortar) £64.6mTotal Online £30.6mTotal International £21.2mTotal Group £116.4m2019 Ests (my own based on interims and trading updates)Deb Concessions £18.0mTotal Concessions £24mTotal UK (Bricks & Mortar) £66mTotal Online £42mTotal International £24mTotal Group £132mSo Debenhams Concessions an optimistic £18m (13.6% to total)Worst Case - Administration, no stores trading and 60 days non payment equates to circa £3m at peak trading revenues. Add on a further £1m for redistribution and other costs. So a non-recurring £4m to hit the P&L and balance sheet out of a likely year end cash position of £14m - £15m.Impact on future years profitability. Impossible to say however common sense suggests that many of the Debenhams concessions are likely to be trading at -10% and more this year and have probably reached a position of unprofitability. I am increasingly of the opinion that total concessions in Debenhams are moving closer to a position of unprofitability every day, and with that in mind I would put the impact on future profitability at no more than 10%, or £700k based on this years likely cash profit (and without even considering the upside of switch buying versus the possible increased marketing cost trade off to mitigate loss in brand awareness).Q. How big is the Debenhams concession risk?A. Ridiculously small relative to what has been priced into a share that is now trading at close to 2x cash profit inclusive of Debenhams going into administration. As someone else posted, given the strength of the balance sheet and how well invested the business is operationally â€" Bonkers.Apologies to those who prefer fiction over fact and unsubstantiated commentary.

Trade away but I suspect there will be news on Debenhams in the next few days and no matter how little impact you think this will have on Quiz (or actually have for that matter) the market will savage this.

I've taken my profits today.

GLAH

PS - no way will this make £8m in profits - may make £8m EBITDA - even that number is risky as H2 EBITDA is going to be close to £2m per the profit warning - therefore you have to believe H2 is a one-off problem rather than the norm.

There is value here potentially but I'm going to wait now until Debenhams is out of the way.

I don't care where it came from. I care where it is going and 36p is first target then 50p 2nd target.

Naive extrapolation! Was the fall from 201p to 23p similarly foreseeable?!
