05/4/2011 12:33 | The Standard article makes absolute sense. Split the co in two as with Liberty. Prop Development and fund management. Maybe there is something in these rumours. Remember, the unexpected and swift departure of the Deputy CEO. Perhaps a link to forthcoming corporate events. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
05/4/2011 12:25 | The boys over at Alphaville said that they would "check it out" so worthwhile tuning in next couple of days. ;-) Ps. NH didn't hear the rumour from the Standard, funny they have same thing. | dr knowledge
05/4/2011 12:20 | Confirm above on FT ALPHAVILLE ( RAWTALK - ie unsubstantiated ), Neil Hume FT, said that " talk company has attracted suitors.....three or four of them......one is from Qatar...and another from the UK -a PLC..." See FT Alphaville , Markets Live for full dialogue . ALL IMO. DYOR. QP RAWTALK is defined by FT as :- RAW is market chatter - information that has not been formally tested through traditional journalistic channels (PRs etc). The story might be complete rubbish, but if we believe there is some substance to it we will say so. Either way, Reader Beware. NH | quepassa

05/4/2011 11:54 | Not much comment considering the buying taking place. I reckon there is a touch of insider trading about today's action. Some news is probably on its way. An offer wouldn't be a total surprise. | horndean eagle
05/4/2011 09:35 | added today | owenski
04/4/2011 14:21 | What is interesting is that we are trading above the 100 & 200 day m.a's with one (100)about to intersect the other and 200 day just turning upwards. | johnv

01/4/2011 18:34 | the 1,180,000 share trade (out and in) looks to me like Nick Shattocks. No problems in taking them... | 911man

01/4/2011 12:07 | Let's hope this will force a few occupiers out to the Greenwich peninsula where rents are much cheaper. "The central London commercial property market is facing its worst shortage of grade A office stock since 1980, according to Capita Symonds' real estate division. A report from Capita Symonds' today forecasts that the stock shortage will cause rents to rise rapidly over the next two years. Headline rents are set to reach £100 per sq ft in the West End and £65 per sq ft in the City by 2013. They are now £70 per sq ft and £55 per sq ft. Over the past year alone office rents in some parts of central London have risen strongly, including 16% in the City and 18% in Midtown. Capita Symonds' report highlights how, over the past year, office availability has fallen in almost every central London market, including a 14% drop in the West End and more than 20% in Midtown and Docklands." 31/3/2011 17:29 | Zangdook. I dunno. You may be right. The particular live feed which I had (ADVFN) showed them all as sales rather than sales matched with buys. Either way, the point is the same. They were chunky sales with willing buyers on the other side - even better if negotiated sales which must indicate that a party/parties want/wanted to acquire lines of QED stock in size. Whether the sales vol on that day was 1.6million or 3.2million, that was a very significant volume which did not affect the price negatively in any meaningful way. Until recently QED share price was twitchy even on small sales but the share price seems much more robust nowadays - perhaps time-wise since Laxey came on board. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP Do we yet know who picked up this line of stock as there is no RNS? | quepassa
31/3/2011 17:21 | Note the late push up. As the amateur psychologist on the current Direct Line advert says. ' What's going on here?!'......!! I'm convinced this is going to be an absolute winner for buyers at the current share price. | wendsworth
31/3/2011 16:26 | Let's hope there is substance to these buys! | robbie paul
31/3/2011 11:17 | QuePassa - 26 Mar'11 - 20:03 - 4775 of 4785 What is amazing is that the share price hardly moved despite a sales volume of some 3.2million shares on Friday thru the LSE. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of that was two negotiated trades of 1,180,000 each, a few seconds apart - I would hazard a guess that those were the same shares and the total sales on the 25th therefore were around 2 million; total other sales less than 1 million. Edit: and another 500,000 was two more NTs of 250k each - perhaps the same thing? | zangdook
31/3/2011 08:58 | The Nationwide House Price Index rose unexpectedly 0.5% in March and now stands above last year's levels. In London, prices are up 2.1% compared with first quarter of 2010 according to FT. See link for full review:- Positive news for Quintain and the sector. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
30/3/2011 15:23 | I think it wants to go up. | owenski |
