10/1/2020 13:12 | Leave Afren alone? It was a disaster for a lot of investors due to crooked activities, only a few traders made any money, | luckyswimmer3
10/1/2020 12:59 | Westie, you leave Afren alone it was a cracker for me though must say never heard of this fella though. :) | thetoonarmy2

10/1/2020 10:52 | Ha ha. Wait until the health benefits of crude oil are discovered! Humans at their present stage of evolution probably haven't discovered all you can do with it yet and we are just at the primitive oil as a fuel stage. | sirrux
10/1/2020 09:50 | here is the plan:): Alin Linn &co are buying shares to push the share price up then do the equity raise do the drilling of 1 well and 1 side track (25m $) - 70% of the entire field When proved sell it for 5$ a barrel. Easy! | srvsrv
10/1/2020 09:46 | Incidentally, that seems to be PMOs plan - buy off the majors, use the tax losses. You could imagine all sorts of things here. Will they? Can they? What's Pageant's thinking in all of this - are they prepared to throw away such significant opportunity?? All big risk, only for the brave. | sirrux
10/1/2020 09:34 | Ah well this business is a national institution now, and you can't say not a drop of oil was found because they have discovered a few drops - but would have been cheaper to buy directly off the majors. I have a sneaking suspicion this is not the end, was it not Michael Jordan who said I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. Anyone think they can do it? | sirrux
10/1/2020 07:14 | Westie, Made a few quid on Afren but never heard of wee Alan until yesterday. The lad has a long history in this sector and should smell a crooked deal a lot sooner than permatan ever did.... | hermana3

09/1/2020 19:19 | Sir,Providence has a Green story with Dunquin boiling water. Not an easy project by any means but a worthwhile one which of course needs a cash rich partner. Great news to have a CEO in place as Pat and Angus are not really day to day guys at Providence. | hermana3
09/1/2020 10:37 | Ireland's energy problem is that no one has the hundreds of billions for the green projects unless the EU obliges. If PVR can do a green deal, might open the pathways a bit more. They are not going to destroy the plant with Barryroe, but can use it as stepping stone to something more sustainable. Time to get the peace pipes out and start talking about making Ireland a green leader using it's own natural resources wisely. Why take on hundreds of billions in debt when the money is in the ground? | sirrux
09/1/2020 09:50 | Are they going to do it themselves? Due to the "situation", it's unlikely a reputable foreign entity will get involved so may need to be an indigenous effort. How the top 10 investors will be viewing this is key. They need to start working on their green credentials, maybe a long term shift to geothermal (with Google's new startup) could be part of that. Just dreaming really, but money is made from dreams sometimes. | sirrux
09/1/2020 09:38 | Clock is ticking on the Barryroe licence,so no time to waste if it is going to get drilled. | funtimejonny
09/1/2020 08:35 | I thought this lot only had enough money until the end of January. Not sure why they are bothering with a new CEO at this stage, perhaps they have found someone to invest in Barryroe. Either way (unfortunately) shareholders will be screwed. | hoper2
09/1/2020 08:15 | Wonder if they have something lined up with Pageant etc. Just waiting for Alan to get his feet under the table. Expect to see a new strategy announcement within Q1, looks like Barryroe will still be anchored into it whatever they decide. | sirrux
09/1/2020 07:35 | Pat knows him from his Tullow days and he must have many contacts from 35 years in this industry particularly from Cairn,Lasmo and Tullow. Could see a wee bit of blue today which is something we haven't seen for many a day. | hermana3
09/1/2020 07:22 | Would be helpful if our Al were now to buy a few shares in the market which would be a groundbreaking event for a CEO here.... | hermana3
09/1/2020 07:19 | Sir, Probably very similar to what they told placees in September fundraise..... | hermana3

09/1/2020 07:15 | Good news that we at last have an industry CEO. Wont be an easy job and hopefully at a low % of what his ineffective predecessor was trousering.... | hermana3 |
