Oilies like PVR and TLW exist to pay large sums to senior management and staff. It's probably written into the mems and arts. Scandalous really.

If McCoss was let loose at PVR, the company would be bankrupt in weeks. His nicknames at Tullow included "Feather", "Pledge", "Rag" and more in relation to dusters.

Mc Coss is a good guy to have onboard. Very experienced in the Exploration game and an able replacement for John 0'Sullivan.

I fail to understand why a failed CEO is potentially good news for a failed business.

LOL. hermana on the censored thread is getting rather excited by the fact that Angus McCoss will now be able to concentrate on PVR after resigning (getting the boot?) from TLW following the bad news RNS today. TLW share price currently down 60% today! So after his efforts at TLW (making a pigs ear of TLW?) he can now get to grips with PVR. LOL. Does hermana ever stop dreaming?

Great news for us as at a minimum Angus will be even more focussed on Providence and a co-head at a vital time.

VERY INTERESTING!!!

Paul McDade, Chief Executive Officer, and Angus McCoss, Exploration Director, have resigned from the Board of Tullow by mutual agreement and with immediate effect.

Wouldn't be an easy task by any means but Joe Nally has done the near impossible before....

I'm sure the last few million raised was purely to pay wages. If TOR did his normal he will have had his contract paid in full. I just wonder if the chairman (who was getting 100,000 a year for working part-time) will give himself a large bonus for taking over the CEO duties!

Piece in today's Sunday Times points out Providence has two choices for financing Barryroe. Find a new equity partner or raise the finance themselves. What would a drill campaign at Barryroe cost in 2020? With an industry player in charge here the market could be receptive to funding Barryroe....

Yes massive tax losses to avail of as well. Hope Pat and Angus have either a Barryroe farmin partner or a buyer in mind. Having Tony out of the picture is a big help in either process.

agree with the 5 p - and the tax asset correspond to 3p.

Sr, Would agree with that valuation. Spanish Point, Celtic Sea licences, Diablo,Avalon and Dunquin worth at least another 5p. So a reserve on the bidding at 25p seems fair. Will Pat go for an auction or a new CEO?

GD, Yes in hindsight PVR should have left the big uns till after drilling Barryroe and Spanish Point. Both these assets are still in place and we will either be taken out or find a new boss to work on these drills. A take out seems more likely as serious capital is required to drill and develop these two.
