No way to know nor to know any timeframe. Whatever happens the BoD will ikely fight tooth and nail to avoid a sell-out unless at much higher than todays price.

Who would want to buy this if BoD were not on side? Most of them would have to be purged/replaced.

May not be DBAY looking to bid at all, possibly the US party is still very keen and waiting in the shadows. DBAY may know this and are simply buying for a quick profit. Whatever DBAY's intentions it all points towards a bid from somewhere.

Once a few big public sector clients start adopting, county councils for example, it will start to gain traction and take off. It’s getting over the first hurdles. Sits alongside electronic invoicing very nicely, and that’s a key development area for many businesses right now can’t stress it enough. If businesses don’t adapt their invoicing processes they’ll get left behind. Millions and millions to be saved in unnecessary admin.

I expect some news on bePayd as part of entire process to help SME's in UK and I also expect it will upset some apple carts at that end of the market - small end.

Bigger end -

Something like 35% in the hands of <1% holders. Add in DBAY and it gets to be useful as a lever. We have no idea who many DBAY influenced smaller holders there are.

It gets interesting. Add in no notice of results yet. The results will need careful reading. It is falling into the hands of the likes of DBAY.

Some news at the time of the results, or an excellent forward look needed.

I wondered if they wanted the bePayd event before announcing results date as some people would, if tempted to buy, would just hold off until seeing the full state of play on paper.

Lombard could easily block or counter offer which is why a low ball 55p won’t go through imo. Hostile will need to start around 70p mark.

Possibly. Though they’re pally with Lombard Odier who sit at 29.9%, when they were Henderson they rode this up to £2 for 5/6x their initial stake. Apparently they’re supportive of a longer term plan again this time around but who knows. DBAY have done an amazing job building such a stake whilst dragging down the price.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the BOD don’t have their hand in DBAYs play? May be entirely wrong on this but I know of personal relationships going back years there. As I’ve said before, self before shareholders has always been the style here.

Hostile bid 55p. Will get through without too much trouble. BOD have literally nothing of substance to counter with

52 week high was 62.5 approx and was nearly a year ago after which the the "new" 52 week high will be lower.

If there’s to be a hostile bid it will be at a reasonable level and comfortably above the year high IMO. They wouldn’t want to engage in a bidding war. A low ball bid would encourage that situation. “We are engaging with multiple interested parties in the data room”...

DBAY started buying aggressively when we were at 34/35p. They’ve since accumulated 13% of the company while dropping the share price a few pence. That’s incredible.

Finncap had 80p target without bePayd. A stretch.

I think you are right Lewis. Could even be 55p opening bid.

Why would they bid 85p? Without improved performance and debt reduction they can dawdle up to 30% and give lombard an easy out at 60p.The 64p ceiling a year ago said a lot about the fsp

DBAY continue to accumulate whilst dragging down the share price. They are firmly in control here and pursuing a hostile imo.

Dbay just announced after 5pm, that they are now at 13.07%.
Wow, watch this space next week! Hostile bid at 85p, with other II’s could do it!

Why ask the questions in 10298 then?
Ask, get it from the horses mouth and then post findings. Do us all a favour.

It will upset nobody if it’s not being used. The technology and programme is not unique - what could differentiate it is the execution. So far they are not executing. Nobody is using it.

JS - fire off an email to Sykes and Persse and ask them?

It was down to links in Fintech Scotland I think and was a "nothing better to do with the time " type of talk.

JS - little adoption outside of PHD base. Gov will come on side in time, possibly very soon. It has unique characteristics in ability to generate income on cash in bank > base rates for the buyer and an excellent customer network to introduce to. Also dynamic in nature and very low friction. It will upset a # of other companies offering something similar but not the same. Subscription potential too so some dependence on volume and transaction values reduced.

I admit I was a little perplexed that Anthony Persse CFO did an interview about BePayd for a company on youtube that had the grand total of 4 subscribers on their channel at the time I viewed it. That’s not going to reach a large audience.

Pinky the demo means little imo. Coding software to provide payments and discounting functionality is easy. What I’d really like to understand with bepayd is...
1. Why is it different to competitors’ capability? I’ve been lectured on here that it is very different, but not heard how.
2. What is their adoption of this within their p2p client base? How many customers are now making it a standard part of their p2p process.
3. What success have those customers seen? What adoption have they seen amongst their suppliers, and what value has been achieved?
4. How are they marketing this. Seems a bit confused to me. I’ve seen little that suggests they understand this market, let alone know how to execute.)
