never understood why their last statement didn't include the fact that some of the nett cash had been used in a small share buyback programme

Small acquisition in Hong Kong
Hopefully a lot better than surplus cash in the bank!
And good that they are trying to grow in Asia

I'm out. got fed up with director sales and options. Never been in a company before where I owned more shares than the finance director. The share price is all over the place thanks to them.

MRF has the company said when the final is to be paid and whether there are likely to be any specials as last year?

Strange investor psychology isn't it? Lower the price and people walk away, raise it and people come running before they lose out. Having said that we've all been caught catching a falling knife, I know I have. I will certainly buy more on weakness. Paul Scott on Stockopedia gave them a good review on 23june and I rate his opinion. There's always the brexit factor putting people off shares but cash in the bank is certain to lose value imho.

Ditto cant understand how these are so undervalued must be yielding 8% now. Just hope there's not something under the hood of the company that we are not aware of. That said surely it would have surfaced by now.

Good spot Melton John, had not realised that - perhaps time to follow the director and top up then.

They have income from offices in Asia which will have a beneficial effect on earnings because of exchange rate. From final results-

" Outside the U.K., Hong Kong proved the 'standout' performer and made the largest contribution to group NFI of all our business units.

Our Middle East business, based in Dubai, also generated strong fee income, especially in light of negative sentiment linked to the falling price of oil. Nevertheless, the Board continues to watch the region carefully and sets conservative expectations in an uncertain environment.

Singapore performed slightly below expectations due to staff changes. However, the office finished the year strongly and we have confidence in the staff structure of the office going forward. Our Prime Insight team in Singapore has grown, with the business area showing signs of maturity and we are expecting improved results from it in 2017."

That usually happens when I find a good share :-( . I think for the time being, the directors are happy running the show and will spin off surplus cash so as not to be too tempting a target with a low share price AND lots of cash in the bank.

Someone will snap this up oneday given its humongous free cash generation.

I may regret it short term but I made a small top-up this morning. They may drop back a few pence but long term I don't think I'll regret it. I agree they seem cheap bb2 lots of growth, cash generative, no debt and no need to raise cash like the story shares. A banker I think.
