20/11/2018 13:33 | Theres a repeating (iceberg) buy order at the moment set at 81p - its currently taking everything the algos are throwing at it. Be amazed if it continues with the oil price sinking like a stone | nav_mike
20/11/2018 13:22 | $55 seems to high given opex $17ish?Assuming this is right then based on their current hedges the underlying oil price would need to be $49 average in H1 and around $47 in H2 to be at $55 average so fingers crossed we won't get there. | privileged

20/11/2018 13:05 | My opinion is that too much credence is given to these so called algorithms & what effect they have on the sp, ultimately they need a human input to determine how they behave, more to do with basic human emotions at the moment IMO It’s hard enough reading the order book when some buys are shown as sells & vice versa,is it possible to know what trades are being executed by the algorithms or is it all guess work? Anyone here got a rough idea what the break even price is on a barrel of oil for PMO? TIA | mercer95

20/11/2018 09:37 | Trump is apparently about to list Venezuela as a state sponsor of terrorism. US currently is still largest importer of Venezuelan crude, taking in half million barrels a day. | whiskeyinthejar

20/11/2018 09:33 | I don't think most producers are happy with $65 Brent. The Russians are less sensitive to the oil price because when it goes down so does the rouble. There's a limit to this though as it makes imports expensive. So theyve expressed happiness at $70. But they've never cut production anyway. However opec want poo up rather more. Saudis have said they want $80 oil. Iraq called $75 a fair price. Shale is not happy either. WTI is currently about $56, but in Permian (Midland) oil is now trading at $50. And Canadian WCS is trading below $15 thanks to bottleneck. Lol. If they sort out their pipelines the differential will tighten I'm sure, but its rather expensive to transport oil long distances around north America. I doubt any producer in Canada or US gets anywhere near Brent price. | whiskeyinthejar
20/11/2018 09:01 | adg it's worth taking some RKH @23/24p, I have.....cos that would double on SL financing from there | deanroberthunt
20/11/2018 08:57 | Trouble is weve just had the trading update, so shorters probably betting we are now going into a pre-xmas news vacuum. Usual relentless algo action this morning, but currently being matched by iceberg orders at 80p | nav_mike |
