Have held here for years - not an exciting share but they keep delivering - was thinking to free up funds here to move elsewhere but when you look at history what's to fault ?

Doing well because it has a strong selection of benchmark beating funds.

Mike O'Shea, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"It is pleasing to report a third successive quarter of positive net fund flow. The Group's AuM reached an all-time high ending the Period at £13.6 billion representing an increase of 28% from the position at 30 September 2020.

Since the beginning of the financial year, we have seen strong flows into our European and US equity funds. This has continued during the Quarter. In addition, we continue to see good flows into our top performing UK equity fund range. Our UK Multi Cap Income, UK Value Opportunities, UK Growth and UK Ethical funds all saw net inflows during the Period. I am also pleased to report that it was a good Quarter for our Diversified multi-asset fund range and for the fixed income bond funds.

During the Quarter, we completed the successful launch of the Premier Miton European Sustainable Leaders Fund. The fund is managed by the highly-regarded investment team of Carlos Moreno and Thomas Brown and has attracted good investor interest since launch with AuM at the Period end of £60 million.

Finally, we will be adding to our suite of income funds with the planned launch of a new European equity income fund in September 2021. Will James, who joined the Group on 1 June 2021 from Aberdeen Standard Investments, will manage the new fund. We continue to believe that income will be a key demand pool over the years ahead and this new fund will further increase the choice that we are able to offer investors in this important area of the market.

The Group now has a well-diversified portfolio of actively managed and strong performing funds capable of delivering attractive returns for investors. We have a strong business platform capable of managing significantly higher levels of AuM. As a result, I believe that the Group remains well placed for this financial year and the years ahead."

A few went through in the auction at 188p to close it at 188p. Solid volume too, with 250,000 going through at 180p, ahead of the offer at the time

Looked at in the round you have to concur with the CEO's view.

Benchmark beating performance of the underlying funds is what is driving the growth in assets under management. PMI are attracting investors to their funds. A talented crew here clearly.

Happy holder

Indeed they do:-

Mike O'Shea, Chief Executive Officer of Premier Miton Group, commented:

"We have made considerable progress as a business since our merger in 2019 and it is pleasing to be able to report a return to net positive flows for the Group over the period. Premier Miton is now a well-diversified asset manager operating on a stable and sustainable platform with a robust balance sheet."

"With attractive investment performance and a clear sense of client service, coupled with a growing brand and targeted marketing activity, this is an exciting time for the firm. I believe that the business is well positioned to deliver for our investors and for our wider stakeholders over the years ahead."

Reasonable increase in dividend too

The spread is a function of the market in PMI shares and nothing to do with the company.

The spread will narrow as this company is found by more investors and I think it will be found.

Have just checked (again) the funds they offer on my Sharescope and they continue to outperform.

Clearly have some very talented managers working for them at present. PMI remains a very strong hold for me.

The performance of the funds is what is driving this as much as anything.

Miton Global, Miton Uk Microcap,Miton Optimal offshore to name but a few..

Premier Miton funds are quietly doing rather well.

I think there should be broker upgrades, not that there are many brokers covering them.

I note, unlike many companies, they haven't issued a single new share since the merger back in November 2018 and had no bank debt at y/e Sept 2020.

At this level might even be a bid target?

I think it's just a bit under the radar and market yet to cotton on to the opportunity. They have a lot of UK equity exposure, which meant it has been a bit out of favour for last couple of years, but could see this becoming a major tailwind if there is a rotation into UK equities as many predict. The performance extremely strong across the key funds and if this continues should lead to strong inflows.

I notice someone bought 500k shortly before close yesterday. Today's statement doesn't look particularly inspiring. Nonetheless, if forecasts are to be trusted they do look very cheap.

Forward P/E of about 8 with growth of about 20%. In 2018 (pre merger) they commanded a P/E of about 20.

Plus the large dividend.

Where's the catch?

Yes the way the funds are performing we should see strong increase in AUM. Highly operationally geared business, so should lead to big increase in earnings. This is still very cheap compared to other fund managers so see a lot of potential here for a re-rating, providing overall markets hold up.

Always seems to me that UK equities advance (esp small caps) and then a few days later PMI plays catch up ..

Certainly their funds are going gangbusters. See Miton Microcap(MINI)

Slightly soft recently and lagged the recent market rally - doesn't make sense for a fund management business which is basically a geared play on markets. The funds are continuing to do very well performance wise and seeing decent inflows, especially Euro Opps and the 2 US funds. The various UK funds are also picking up speed. The area that had been a bit weak was the multi asset funds but recent performance is better and outflows seem to have slowed or even stopped.

They sell some really good products.

I watch the funds with interest .. they are a leading indicator as to the health of this business.

"The strong performance of our single strategy funds continued during the period with 6 out of 16 funds performing in the top decile of their respective IA sectors since the tenure of the fund manager. Three of these funds are ranked as the top performing fund in their respective sectors. In recognising this outperformance, several of our funds received industry awards. The LF Miton European Opportunities Fund, managed by Carlos Moreno and Thomas Brown won Best Europe Fund at the Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year Awards 2020 in June and won Best Europe Fund in the Money Observer Fund Awards 2020. Nick Ford and Hugh Grieves, who manage the LF Miton US Opportunities Fund and the LF Miton US Smaller Companies Fund, were winners at the Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year Awards 2020"
