My buddy is in fine form. W2T IPO is a 'big clue to funding the DMG roll out.' Some info on patent filing and funding for the morons. Life and learn. Off to part shortly. See you next year.

I thought it was interesting that they managed to get a quote from Professor Joe Howe of the University of Chester, and also from Waste2tricity chairman John Hall, but no comment from anyone at the company that actually owns the DMG process, and not even a mention of Powerhouse Energy.

I hope that Keith Allaun has a serious word with the newspaper and also with John Hall.

lagosboy - I am inclined to agree with a lot of your analysis of the situation. I do not like the W2T connection and I think it is not helping PHE further their technology and IP. Interesting you used the word "aligned" given that PHE use Align as their broker. I like the story here but things are not stacking up quite right at the moment.

agree with that lagos. something smells a bit. i have emailed the sunday express to ascertain the name of the journalist behind that 30 dec piece. if they don't comply i will put a complaint into the press ombudsman (although it seems they may have no remit as that paper may or may not have been excluded due to non payment of dues) and failing that, the FCA. if the publication of the express piece was orchestrated by a PHE connected party, there are questions to be answered

Patents (yay) - there are none. if you file a patent, it goes for assessment, and a patent that is thus presented may be termed 'pending' until it is either granted or refused. There have been no filings. This is an alarming omission. without a patent or design, you own nothing of intrinsic value with which you can licence. PHE is aware of what IP is, which is why they have taken the trouble to obtain trademarks. Lack of patents/designs or applications therefore is a serious blunder.
For those of you with the rose tinted eyewear, you might seriously ponder this. However much belief you put in this technology, however good it may be, will come to nothing if its not protected

No patents, no applications for patents, no deal with Toyota, and no projects. All seems perfectly clear to me.

vatna - imagine a typical car with a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine. Now imagine the capacity is doubled to 4 litres. And then doubled again to 8 litres. Finally it is doubled yet again to 16 litres. You seem to be suggesting that that would be a trivial change, requiring little or no enhancement to the actual car. I take it your degree was not in engineering?

Anyway, 2019 is a new year, and a new opportunity to see if the confetti count can reach 2 billion. My guess is it will. I'm less certain about the patent filing though ;¬)

Ok, so it says the actual patents in question are related to the thermal conversion of ''waste plastics'' to hydrogen and electricity. I presume that this means the conversion of plastics is the subject of multiple patents the filing of which is in process.

Dare I ask what about other feedstocks - as this only seems to cover plastics?

Or is this just another ambiguously worded RNS?

Quite poor show to have such a basic error in the naming of the newspaper. Perhaps somebody was at the Christmas gin. However, the bit to pay attention to is this (quoted from today's amended RNS):-

"The actual patents related to the thermal conversion of waste plastic to hydrogen and electricity have been developed, and are in the process of being filed, by PowerHouse Energy Group, plc and all proprietary IP related to the DMG(R) Thermal Conversion Process is owned by PowerHouse and will be licensed to Waste2Tricity."

Some time ago, in an interview David Ryan explained that they would be filing several applications for IP, for separate parts of the technology, rather than one application for the entire system. He explained the reason for doing that, which made sense to me at the time, but I can't remember the detail right now.

That's the thing about reading all of the RNSs carefully, and watching all of the interviews, it means that one gets a better understanding of what's really going on rather than having to make it up.
