Yep it`s Steinhoff

The Board of Steinhoff notes the recent share price movement in the share price of Poundland Group Plc and confirms that it is considering a possible offer for the entire issued share capital of Poundland.

A further announcement will be made when appropriate in due course.

Warburg Pincus was the largest shareholder before it sold it`s holding just after 4pm today. We await the RNS on the new holder Investec was acting for. ( Main regions for Investec are South Africa , Australia and the UK)

I`ve been following the trades pretty closely this week and have seen nothing untoward. As Hutch said the market has been dropping like a stone lately.

Having said that , it`d be interesting to know who tipped off the newspapers over the weekend . It wasn`t just the Mail , The Telegraph also carried the..... "Annual pre-tax profits are expected to tumble almost 90pc from £36.2m last year, to just £4m in the 12 months to the end of March." story on sunday

And yes, impossible to sell 25% of my holding towards the close tonight.

Easy way of picking up some stock by releasing that poor statement in This is Money. Even if results are as bad we now have a base.

Its on sets. Corrupt system skewed to making it easy for big investors. Constant auctions, locking ordinary investors out when a share is moving. System stinks for sure.

If it is a takover target, im not suprised. Seems to be preditors are taking advantage of oversold, unloved stocks at knockdown prices. that's what happens when brokers fail to see value and concentrate on short term issues, discouraging buyers and encouraging short sellers.

Sums up the whole brexit BS imo
