I can't help comparing this to MNG. Both in the same(ish) business, both paying 10%(ish) yields. The difference is that MNG is showing gently upward capital growth, this one drifting gently downwards.

I found the argument that investing in POLR was a cheap way of investing in tech seductive. I'm wondering if this is too simplistic.
I also wondered about its fashionable style and then thought, but isn't that exactly what the stock market is at the moment - e.g. AI funds.
So, then does it simply come down to how good the management are at playing the fashion game?
So, a bit like SOS, as long as they get the designs right they flourish in a strong market and survive in a weak market?
However, the S&P is up about the same amount as POLR is down in a month.
Anyone help a newbie 😊

TBH at the current valuation POLR will likely be a takeover target for a major given the quality of the company, management and fund managers they have...ticks all the boxes for a superb buy and hold company imo....

Considering the state of the markets AuG held up will for POLR in 2023, the rally from October should translate through very favourably for POLRs latest AuM at the next update, due early Jan....all in my opinion....I believe these shares are way undervalued at the current share price ...PE ratio just 9 ish currently....should be nearer 16 imo....

Inflows into their funds will have increased significantly since October imo....when the FED first started signalling rates had peaked...the markets jumped 10% then and have been steadily bouncing since...imo inflows will show a spectacular turnaround too....

DTH - Why would you think the AUM could be spectacular given the trend over the last 12 months?

The US tech stocks they are heavy in have been going great, and their other funds will have been doing well too. AuM is likely to be really positive at the next update....agree with your 600p target by Spring...;-)....could fly quickly if the AuM update is spectacular....

I think they’d trim the dividend if we had another 18 months like this (at least prior to these recent weeks. They have plenty of cash but some is for regulatory capital.

Be good to get some performance fees, but until the markets get back over their 2021 highs, we’re not going to get much of anything.

If outflows start to reverse on the tech fund and interest rate expectations are met then I’d hope we’d push back on to the 600p mark in late spring.

I am very overweight in that stock as I think the market has completely got it wrong. Am looking to diversify a bit more.

renewed1, the cover is by earnings. They have substantial cash so even if cover drops below 100% I don't see a problem.

Spoke too soon Dave. I don't understand why the likes of LIO and MNG have rallied a lot recently whilst this has barely moved. Must have some catching up to do.
