Exactly what I was about to say - yes a small sell off in tech last couple of days, but POLR didn't react at all to the earlier surge in tech. Seems UK markets ignore positive news, but panic on any negative news. Tech still hugely up YTD so POLR a lot of catching up to do IMO.

Tech sell off affects the bulk of the funds. Not that we’ve benefitted from the rise a great deal!

Well, I was expecting a rise ahead of the results.

If you go on the Polar website they show the month end AUMs for all of the funds - if you were very thorough you could keep track of all of these, although I tend just to look at the large funds such as global technology and global insurance.

You can also keep track of how funds are performing since month end on places such as Hargreaves Landsdown - eg I can see the technology fund is up around 8% since end of May, so you could add this to the month end AUM figures (I'm assuming flows will be negligible over such a short time period).

Developed Europe can't grow.
US is the bellwether.
UK small caps are of zero overall interest, so a flat UK small cap price is positive,
Anything negative that brings a small cap to the attention of the market results in many tens of a percent drop in share price

riverman77 I would value some guidance about an easy route to AUM for an inherently lazy researcher.

Yes it's clear that AUM has seen another decent rise over the last month or so - all this information is readily available. Quite shocked how inefficient markets are in the smaller cap space - as you say there'll no doubt be a big rise when they 'surprise' markets with their next AUM update

Yes, biggest areas, the tech fund, trust and AI fund, circa £9.5bn at last count posting 6-10% gains over the last month.

Share price for Polar Cap itself over the last month- down more than 3%. Answers on a postcard.

Also seen they’ve launched an emerging markets healthcare fund at the end of May.

Got that other global equity fund manager to come on board eventually as well.

Going to try and load up before full year results, for the re-rating for easily available data seemingly surprising everyone…..

Flows have levelled out for the tech fund, small inflows for the AI fund, and still getting a decent run of flows into the Emerging Markets Stars fund which is really impressive as that’s been a tough gig to generate inflows in that sector over the past couple of years.

I think we may be on course for a bit of a re-rating and the end of year results should be positive, as we have the potential for performance fees for this calendar year from a couple of the funds.

Thanks for the responses, folks.
I have a lot of confidence in the US highly priced tech. Except for Tesla.
Is it possible/sensible to look at how POLR instruments are exposed to Tesla?
Amusingly, as an engineer, if I was into shorting and trading in the US I would have been bankrupted by betting against Tesla over the years.
About ten years ago I said to a pal that he should put all his money into MSFT and forget about it. Did I do that? Of course not 😊

Stocks generally took a pounding yesterday with the exception of Nvidia. Polar is a high beta stock so does tend to move more on a down day.

Tech fund/trust have made some big calls on cutting Apple and Tesla holdings which has worked out very well so far. Hoping we can gather some momentum for performance fees through the year as well as the return of inflows to the tech/ai funds.

I think it's just the normal trading range for POLR and the trend is still up. 50p profit and some people get nervous, sell and come back later. Goes XDIV in July plus AUM update so some will decide a bird in the hand is better. I'm happy to stay a holder and confident the trend is my friend.

Puzzled by the reaction to NVDIA followed by the decline.
Any observations?

Yes, polr big beneficiaries of the AI trend, with the way their tech and ai funds and trusts are positioned. A lot of Nvidia exposure.

Health and insurance funds have done well YTD. U.K. value opps fund flying finally too.

Might mean we see the return of more meaningful performance fees as we pass the high water marks.

Melchior need to stop the rot too
