28/4/2020 09:48 | I ought to have added, I think Brexit is a sideshow compared with the C-19 situation and it’s longevity of effect on all markets. After all, what did Brexit do to oil, or FX (apart from GBP) or credit, or bonds? C-19 has totally messed them all up (less so FX, but there’s time). | chucko1
28/4/2020 09:44 | They must consider delaying Libor transition (it’s not actually being abolished entirely) and I suspect they will. That would not, in my opinion, lead to market volatility - rather, it would allow banks an opportunity to nick pennies per million from all the transactions. There happens to be $€£trillions of notional of contracts, though, so in aggregate we ere talking about a heck of a lot of money. | chucko1
28/4/2020 09:37 | So volatility continues. Even if the virus story abates, there's still Brexit and the abolition of LIBOR to come, both of which only seem to have a fraction of the preparation needed. | aleman
28/4/2020 09:08 | I would be surprised if, after contemplating each line of the trading statement, that Q2 is not handily ahead of Q1. They cite “further momentum”, but even without this, the pure maths of the situation takes them ahead. Anyone relying on “mean reversion” to support their lack of enthusiasm should dig around a little to learn about situations in finance where mean reversion happened far more slowly than the models predicted, with very poor consequences. Bought more this morning (1269p), but (as ever) I hope it goes down (a bit) as it has a strange habit of doing. In fact, has there been a trading statement recently where it has not gone down? Or some analyst foaming at the mouth about something or other? There’s a carnival of strange players involved in this stock who are not well schooled in the relative value of cash and debt. | chucko1
28/4/2020 08:45 | Plus half of IG @ SundayIG mkt cap 2700m position 115Plus500 1338m position 188Both jumping up ratings, I do not recall Plus appearing in Sunday Times top 200 big table before this week | the white house
28/4/2020 08:43 | Yeah I agree sif2 check out the price chart of novacyt. Its currently valued at 250m with zero earnings just because they've signed a contract to supply coronovirus testing with the government. Fundamentals out the window lol | jw330
28/4/2020 08:41 | I wonder what kind of news we would need to see the share price rise. | rose_by_another_name
28/4/2020 08:39 | Brilliant update. I may look to get back in here on any fall back. | simba_
28/4/2020 08:37 | Jw advfn has always been about the hype of a share.. thats why the oil E&Ps still get so much attention.. the promise of multie baggers. Same with all these pharmas I only found plus by using a stock screener! | sif12
28/4/2020 08:34 | Has anyone done a straight comparison to Ig at current valuation? I swear ig is grossly overpriced | jw330
28/4/2020 08:33 | Volume is still pretty low atm...People still sleeping on these shares. Time to top up lol | jw330
28/4/2020 08:20 | I think dividend (+special div) announced at half year will abe atleast £2/share. The insiders hold large amount of the stock so their interests are aligned with ours | djokovic1
28/4/2020 08:10 | Also based on about 30% of earnings,a dividend of about 80-90p? 6-7% on current SP | sif12
28/4/2020 08:04 | Djoko PEs are just a number and so I put the range up and wanted to show comparison to IG. Agree with your number for next year when/ if volatility normalises.. But point being is this year will be significant and conveniently timed rns:) We could see a share price hitting 3000p + with and share price maintaining above 2000p next year. Would be better than a wild swing up and down | sif12
28/4/2020 07:33 | Pleased I bed-and-ISAed my holding at the beginning of the month. | rose_by_another_name
28/4/2020 07:33 | Also I think it's safe to assume the equity analysts working for Berenberg and other investment banks are not stupid so I can only think they deliberately underplay their forecasts. There is no other explanation for it as the numbers they come out with are so far off it's absurd. | 1smallcap
28/4/2020 07:31 | If Carlsberg could do trading updates .... | mr roper
28/4/2020 07:30 | surely this will cause a bit of a gap up..but knowing recent price action after positive updates might go down 2% as well lol..... | jw330
28/4/2020 07:30 | SIF: I think you can change your Q2 figure to 350-400 :) If this doesn't gap up, I'll be adding to my already massively overweight position. It's the only stock I am entirely confident on at the moment and today's update is a pleasing confirmation of what we already suspected. I think revenue of over £1 billion is very much on the cards now, which means the equity is exceptionally undervalued, even after the recent rise. | 1smallcap
28/4/2020 07:24 | You might be saying that about 14 pounds tomorrow | galileo8
28/4/2020 07:23 | You might be saying that about 14 pounds tomorrow | galileo8
