23/4/2020 23:37 | It ought not to be just a function of the current experienced volatility, but the likelihood of a continuation of it beyond 30 days (the VIX is the expectation of the future 30 day S&P volatility, which some use as a proxy for Plus’s prospects). Moreover, we have volatility in all asset classes and for reasons that will remain fundamental as far as the eye can see. Just one example of this - how long is it going to take to get 25% unemployment in the US reduced back to normality (say, 5%) and which companies are not going to survive the journey? In fact, which countries are going to struggle along the way including all of Europe. EM may be a fiasco. This uncertainty affects everything, not just pretend things like Bitcoin. This is why the action Plus is experiencing now is an order of size more meaningful than the Bitcoin frenzy and why that period is hardly a prism for what is happening now. Also, this assumption by the moronic analysts that one quarter with negative customer P&L is followed by a quarter of positive customer P£L will be seen to be false in circumstances where multiple assets are in play. It still might do, but only by chance rather than from the mean reversion those analysts appeared to be assuming. As I’ve said over the years, it’s great that there’s so many idiots associated with the analysis and discussion of Plus - fertile territory for those willing to look through the (sometimes thick) fog. | chucko1
23/4/2020 23:14 | Perhaps today the penny dropped that we must be making a killing on the extreme volatility in the oil price-apart from continuing general market volatility | base7

23/4/2020 16:41 | I think you’re telling porkies. No one would lend retail that amount of stock. Especially as you were 20% offside from the get go. And if you are a fund, what the heck are you spending your time on here for? Does not pass the smell test. And in any event, you are an oaf. | chucko1

23/4/2020 15:35 | its the language but also its 90% ramping or deramping on advfn.. reason i left for quite a while. i think anyone genuinely invested should be asking the right questions, which from time to time does occur on this thread which is encouraging. | sif12
23/4/2020 15:29 | My 14 year old boy follows this board as his starting to get interested in investments and how they work etc. it's a shame that there are so many obscenities flying around | galileo8
23/4/2020 15:28 | I know sif12. It’s such a shame. I just don’t understand it! Why speak like that? Both of them, back and forth, it’s pathetic. I refuse to believe they would speak to each other like that in real life so why do it on here? School kids have more manners. | ponyten
23/4/2020 15:26 | FXPro, I was doing my numbers earlier. In the past year, I have made 125% on my longs, in and out and roundabout on PLUS. Seems a better use of time than waiting for doomsday. In fact, my return on average capital employed must be approaching 300%. Makes a mockery of most alternative stances I could have taken. Just as well I was never minded to listen to your vague theories, bordering on crackpot. Don’t you think you might just be wrong? | chucko1
