On the subject of utilities: I gather it has been a bit cooler than usual here in England for the last month or so. I do wonder if this will entail a re-calculation of Direct Debits?

Mrs A has had a letter from the water supplier. Basically, the meter is faulty and she has been overcharged.

Unlike the so-called 'Smart' meters, I have been unable to resist the move to a water meter (they just fitted it in the pavement anyway). So far, this has resulted in a significant reduction in our water bill.....

.....I haven't turned the garden sprinkler system on yet.

When I was about 10 I used to use a 14" Qualcast and a Flymo, when they actually did hover. I don't know what elf'n'safety would make of that these days, but should I have left it to my poor old dad?
