#7957 have no fear, Dominic! It'll be a cold day in hell when I turn socialist.

I do, however, think the late false Conservative government was in many respects more socialist than the present lot.

#7947 Churchill was indeed Chancellor of the Exchequer! In the 20s, I think. He put us back on the gold standard.

Apparently I shouldnt be referring to one of the new intake of apprentices as "Bungle", despite him very much resembling him.

Aye, cracking stuff and the bloke is doing it for nothing too, donating his salary to local charities within his constituency each month.

Unlike the snouts in the trough tory boys and labour grifters.

I must say Rupert Lowe comes across as extremely competent. He is also sticking it up 'em on a regular basis - and they do not like it, not one little bit in fact.

Loverly sunny day ‘here’ today - although an extra 6 or so layers won’t go amiss.

Both Tice are Rupert Lowe are more than qualified on economic matters, jeffian.

#7943,

I'm not really following who's who in Reform (other than Nige and Tice, of course). Who are the big hitters when it comes to finance/the economy?

#7945,

Aye, but he wasn't Chancellor of the Exchequer and his WW1 experience must have come in a bit handy when WW2 came along.

I note that the meeting room at the Delta Marriott hotel had booked for in a couple of weeks time has been cancelled, following its immediate closure following the requisitioning by the home office to house a further 300 male illegals.

#7939,

Maybe, gra, but a very similar thing did for Andrea Leadsom. Sauce/goose/gander?

I think the issue is that she promoted herself as the 'grown up' taking control of UK plc and that she had the knowledge and experience to do it. Whether sitting in a back room at the Halifax (she herself called it a "junior role" in past tweets) qualifies her for that is questionable. Having said that, it could apply to almost any politician these days.

Agreed Barry. The bearded baldy is a busted flush. And personally I think all this stuff about the Chancellor's cv is petty and nasty.
