The hugely volatile Stock Markets are hugely profitable to TradeTech. After years of relatively subdued markets, this is what they were waiting for.

I should add that China is a different kettle of fish, because our services are not legal in China. PTEC puts China under "unregulated" but China it is very clearly an illegal service.

I'm thinking that banning access to High Street betting shops in Italy and Britain, and elsewhere, is likely to drive more customers towards online gaming. By 2020 many who went to high street betting shops were doing it for a social connection, which is entirely understandable. Some punters may have gone to shops because they don't have Internet. They will have to wait until the shops open.

Well that was a fair update. Preserve cash. Buy back and dividends surspended. Like a said before, write off this year and next will be fine. Plenty of sporting events to be crammed in next year so will be bumper year. Now it's just the case, how low will we go before start to seen turnaround. GLH

Media extract below is from 8 days ago, following Italy's closure of betting shops, arcades and bingo rooms. Has there been an update from Playtech in any of the recent press?"Playtech said it will comply with the measures by shutting down its Snaitech retail estate, but added that the brand's online activity will continue and may help to mitigate some of the impact of the retail closures. In addition, Playetch said an increase in market volatility has led to a very strong performance within TradeTech year-to-date, and this could help offset any drop in retail revenue. It did not provide any figures on the potential impact of the outbreak on its revenue or earnings." https://www.igamingbusiness.com/news/italian-covid-19-lockdown-forces-snaitech-shops-close

I don't agree with companies buying their own shares. When they have spare cash they should return it shareholders in the dividend. However, when the share price is this low is not the time to stop. They are now getting 3 or 4 times as many shares than late 2019.

Well, buying now could be the bargain of the century - the money is certainly going a lot further.

PTEC in decent shape and a nice bounce to end

...and he sold out right at the top. He has a very good team imo.

I want to see PTEC come back. Followed this company for years.

I think this year will have to be written off. Italy is in lock down, sporting events being cancelled. Tradetech is now the only part of the business earning with the volatility in the financial markets. Pointless worrying about the price now. This will now become a long time hold.

they need to stop buying shares - it doesn't work. It is just wasting the company's precious money in a bid to stem the fall in price. Which mostly doesn't work - better leave the money in the company's coffers as support.

They said they are looking at all options regarding TradeTech. Maybe they should think about letting it run as a separate listed company and give us playtech shareholders shares in it. I think we will gain more from it. All other CFD providers are doing well on the market.

One saving grace in all this is that TradeTech will be making money hand over fist. CMCX and PLUS have both upgraded earnings in the last week. IGG went up 6% today

Playtech: Deutsche Bank reiterates buy with a target price of 350p

They were at the conference meeting last week and asked a few questions and must have been happy with what was said.

At 250p this has to be a bargain price. In years to come people will be thinking why did I not buy at 250p.

Share buyback of 215000 share at an average price of 256p
