A market cap of a billion is not small cap that is for sure.Relative to the large US casino brands it is small but in the gaming sector more broadly it is lager Look at William Hills or 888 for example

It’s not a big cap...

If this IPO’d in the US it would be a very small company in comparison. Can’t see that happening given its global reach / global revenue and its only just tip-toeing into New Jersey but more US will come in short order.

Snippet given these elements are available in the public domain

Playtech’s EBITDA was Eu 140m in the FOUR month period, significantly exceeding Bank of America’s forecasts for Eu 103m for the first SIX months.

Cash in hand is Eu600m while two directors have just bought a heap of shares.

I assume PTEC charges fees for all trades - like a broker does.
In volatile markets traders are much more active.
Even when you buy and sell at around the same price, the broker takes a transaction fee.

TEB knows a lot more about trading than i do.

Also, related to market volatility and Playtech

Lots of punters lose money on spreadbetFor example, I lost a lot on the initial covid crash betting on a recovery in stocks that never happenedWhere shares move up and down rapidly the spreadbetters make a lot of money on the spreadsAll about volumeSpeaking of which, will be going long some US gamers today but risky if Dow falls again

This market volatility is excellent news for PTEC.It doesn't affect the gaming business while vastly increasing revenue and profits from TradeTech.Long may it continue :)

Margins have been tightening due to competitionAlso margins lower in white markets compared to grey and the former is an increasing share This is good in some respects but not for the bottom line short termProfits is all about Asia - slowed decline but can it be reversed? Not easy Finger on the trigger

We might retest 250p again. I will do a top up there. One thing about playtech, it does sign up loads of contracts. They never tell us what these contracts are worth. Profits should be higher year after year but it doesn't seem to happen. I still think they should spin out tradetech as a separate listed company and give us shares in that. We will definitely be valued more as two companies. GLH
