The news about PHNX is there's new news anywhere about PHNX, the share price is weakly following the market trend but as it's over two months to the next ex dividend date the share price may well back track to fill gaps.

Oh! get it.

Phoenix on an upward roll. Hits 540p. Only 255p to get back to the high point of the last five years - valentine's day, 2020.

I'm not complaining mind, but suspect the rise today is a direct consequence of the expectations of today's voting. Hence, politics is the discussion theme.

It'll go sour soon enough I suspect.

Morning Jubber: nobody knocked on at my door. Both barrels still loaded here ;-)

And Skinny, also good morning. No, I have no news re. PHNX although heartened by the rise in LGEN, ABDN and PHNX this morning. Diageo also - perhaps on the hopes of much champagne being ordered on Friday in SW1 area thus countering the overstocking in Latin America ;-)

Has anyone had a prospective candidate of whichever hue or political persuasion actually knocking on their door or asking what they thought.

I haven't.

I was hoping they would so I could give them both barrels

Says it all

Everything changes and everything stays the same.

Manufacturing's return to UK shore has been hampered by the constant moaning of folk wanting to continue tossing our cash onto the EU Gravy Train rather than spending it here at home.

Movement across the EU countries has been purposely obstructed by the EU elite because they want our cash back in their cash trough.

Just off subject note, the EV policy of UK and EU is going to unravel as car sales for EVs are down the tubes.... This is the kind of idiotic ideas our government leaders have without any clue how to execute..... The normal words of "encouraging private investors" stand out and these are more than just BS words .. Every time they say these words I smell the aroma !

b) You have long queues on Eurostar to check passports etc - so every time I go on holiday to Europe I am losing precious minutes of my life.

What an intelligent well thought out argument

Typical selfish left wing/liberal comment

Net curtains, I agree our old government has made a complete screw-up on BREXIT and hence your comments hold some truth. However, I voted Brexit and dont regret it looking what is happening and unfolding now in EU..... They will have a torrid time if Le Pen gets control of the French. I am keeping my last 2 years policy of 50% cash in SIPP with 5% interest and 50% in S&S ISAs going fwd ...... GLA

MCunliffe1:
a) I recently went on a tour to Southern France (Vincent Van Gogh tour). The farmers I met there say they are losing out - they cannot get their food through customs fast enough. And I guess, therefore, its the same for UK farmers going the other way.
b) You have long queues on Eurostar to check passports etc - so every time I go on holiday to Europe I am losing precious minutes of my life.
c) No one has seen a benefit of brexit so far but many have seen negatives. So my sentence stands: we ALL can see the negatives of brexit but we will have to live with it. Its a mistake and nations make many. You must be in a bit of denial if you have not come across a negative (sorry but that is how it is)....

netcurtains: please don't speak for me;

"Anyway we all agree that being in the EU is better than Brexit"

I relish NOT being in the EU. I am not personally affected by our exit. I can still holiday in Nice a couple of weeks a year. There's no lack of french cheese or wine in our shops.

I do agree partly withh you insofar as moving on and living with it. However, it could have been much better if we'd had more accomplished negotiators and far more intelligent back-room advisors.

I'm about 65% invested, 35% cash gbh2.
I'm quite surprised the market this morning is moving upwards.

Down to my core holding on every product this morning, now sitting on 30% cash waiting to see what kind of disaster the new government, with old ideas, brings in.
