No way in a million years would UK pension funds hold Italian bonds.

Might put paid to any ideas of acquisitions for some time, but I think one broker said recently that they could pay out their current dividend for 20 years simply on run-off. Considering how they generate their dividends, that at least should be secure. (But do they hold a lot of Italian bonds?)

Brokers currently have 4-0-2-0-1 (SB-B-H-S-SS).

7.9% forward yield seems a bit OTT. Foreign investors fleeing the GBP?

We are told to expect a dividend of about 23.4p twice a year. 46.8/618 = 7.57%. I am using forward yield since we have that information.

I reckon that yield is nearer to 7.3%

22.6 x 2 = 45.2p / 618 =7.31%

@ tournesol - obvious, surely?

Greater accessibility for staff = greater potential longevity of staff (many of whom have policies, natch) = lower profits for Phoenix.

A clear short now!

Lauders

Really think you wasted the time it took to post that and the time it took me to read the "news" articles.

Improving accessible foot paths might be a good thing, but it's naff all to do with the investment case.
