3 dividends since June totalling 6c with the worst river drought in over 100 years, signals the potential shareholder returns here. The chance of it all kicking off with the locals is also part of the equation, but with the present CEO, the rewards outweigh the risks.

The 30s have been as little visited as the 50s. The sad reality is that PTAL is moored in the 40s, and needs something more than higher river levels to escape that range. I'm holding for the divis.

I’m breaking even (again) here with 70000 at 48pps avg. And (again)not selling. Surely this time, after recent news on production, dividends and outlook, we will not make the usual return to the depression zone 30’s.

oil showing signs of wanting to get back over $80 as well, should help PTAL revs. DYOR

Gutterhead, we may need to wait for the other routes to market to have to open up to rerate so that we see the full value of production, given the shipping issues through Q3, but currently very good value with an excellent dividend.
I did think we would see a bit more of an share price bounce this morning but never mind, better for compounding if reinvesting.

Sklanc, how much of the rainforest has Ptal chopped down?
How many natives has Ptal displaced?
Please keep your virtue signalling to yourself

all banging on about dividends and cash generation, but no mention of destruction of rainforests and displacement of native people. You should all be ashamed.

I like Ptal with is cash generation and decent dividend policy but not overweight as do have some concern on country risk plus the oil transport risk

Read and compared the RNS from JSE and PTAL. Didn't hesitate to invest further here this morning, the PTAL CEO really delivers for shareholders, despite the challenges.

Morning Fozzie reinvested here 15% yield at bought price, river levels improving, money making machine of the highest order now.

Must say though at present there are numerous oil companies that are dirt cheap in my view.

15% yield they say, future looks bright, growing cash pile, short term issue (seems as ever) with annual low river levels, but that now reversing IMO as should share price....DYOR

The FT had another article on low river levels in the Amazon. Checked the forecast for Iquitos and rain is forecast for everyday from Wednesday till Monday next but it is the beginning of the rainy season and not sure how heavy it is forecast to be.

I agree Cerrito, although at the moment it seems most continents could be considered at risk politically. There doesn’t seem much stability anywhere.

One reason I do not have more PTAL shares is concern at the political situation especially with the departure of Castillo earlier this year and I havr found it difficult to get a handle of what is going on.
Yesterday's FT had a supplement on Peru with commentary on the current political situation. It seems calm but fragile.
