history is not on the investors side!

I can only remember two RNS in teh last 2-3 years which i thought that was really good.

Rav if Db had dealt in PCI and bought back recently he would be on 1400%.PTR is not nearly as bad over the same timeframe. The Sib reserves update would be best left under wraps for now as nobody will give it any value in the current market. Some E&Ps with an EV under nett cash never mind reserves!Hope PTR can muddle through but history is not on the BODs side.VGLTA

Let's keep an eye on management's promise of workovers in Jan.

Value of oil in the ground is important but without extraction results this isn't going no where. Oil price will recover one day based on simple economics.

Dbarron must now be in the millions!

Malcy on the subject today:

Oil price

Yesterday saw WTI visit $29.93 in intra-day trading and crude certainly ended down on the day, again. As usual there were mixed messages humming around the oil market, the Nigerian Oil Minister said that there would be an emergency Opec meeting in March which the UAE Minister ruled out. The STEO report was actually quite good for the market as it increased non-Opec supply contraction to 640/- b/d thus increasing the call on Opec to 31.43m b/d in 2016 and 32.64m b/d in 2017. Dependent on the supply situation that is about the level at which Opec could start to turn the taps off and have the world by the short and curlies, and of course when the 300bn of capex cuts by the majors would kick in…is it just me that is taking this seriously?

The API stats, released as ever after the close, were also mixed, bulls read into the crude draw of 3.9m barrels, 300/- at Cushing as good news but gasoline build by 7m and distillates were up 3.7m. Again we will have to see what the EIA have for us tonight.

EIA weekly report late tomorrow afternoon may hopefully show a draw down with gas now below $2 a US gallon an further shale production decline. Temperatures are falling in the North Eastern states, so thermostats will be turning up to maybe reduce heating oil stocks, though that may not start to show through for a week or two. Last weeks figures were possibly a seasonal aberration.

Sean lol your commentary is stating the obvious. Do you not think the director trades is the result of this mini rise. Well done to those that bought low.

You need to look up the definition of a short.

Short selling is the sale of a security that is not owned by the seller, or that the seller has borrowed.

Dbarron...yet you state you made no loss.

Absolute bu@@sh@er!

Good luck with your short, as you just agreed to what sean said who has explained a short!

Can't trust you with any comments now.

Filtered again.

I spoke to a company spokesperson, ( un-named ) large last year and they said that a small profit should be achieved in 2016. However, PoO has dropped again since then, to a point where I assess that we are facing a small loss. This is bad news because we have little spare cash, if any, and borrowing can be difficult in this climate, hence a placing, private or otherwise is likely. I doubt it will be huge so I wouldn't fret.

I have no intention of telling anyone details of my share trading.
Sean is kinda on the money, and I do not short shares.

RavDb can have made money here by selling at 6p a while ago and buying back shares at the current levels. He would still have the same size shareholding and money in hand.My comments re DF buys are tempered with a desire for some fresh ideas and I do not feel the current BOD are able to do this.Hope 16 turns out better than 15 for the poor shareholders of PTR.VGLTA

The statement made by DF in December would indicate the company could turn a profit on production at mid December oil prices.

From 14/12/15
We are now preparing for the development of South Arbuzovskoye next year with construction of Pad 2 from where we expect better flow rates from the horizontal wells and good economics, even at the current low oil prices. Production has increased by over 40% in 2015 and we will continue to focus on production growth.”

it's a tough one here as elsewhere, Oil companies that are already in full production with the facilities paid for already can twist a profit even in low price of oil environments. PTR is lucky in that sense it is a producer. But SIB is a jewel here and it is not on stream yet. like many I am stuck here, to stubborn to give up.

RavI am being a realist when it comes to PTR.As a holder I want the BOD to lead the company and get a realistic valuation for the Company and its hopefully growing asset base in the market. The recent buys by DF are welcomed by me and I have always acknowledged that he had owned a fair number. The BOD is fairly long standing both in time served and average age profile so maybe some younger members might be beneficial in getting things moving. The POO is obviously outside of this and almost every oil company's control and I just hope that Saudi makes up its mind where it wants it to be shortly.Still holding just not keen on seeing certain BB members acting as BOD cheerleaders with dubious info at times.Hope that PTR's share price ends 16 at least over the last equity raise figure.VGLTA

ravin.

If you read the last operations update you would see how the closed period has ended.
Drilling for the period had finished, well results were given and preliminary seismic results and opinions and estimations given.
So until they get the work-over results or a reserves update the directors should be free to purchase shares.
