19/9/2017 08:49 | Imminent breakout alert! | ny boy
18/9/2017 17:18 | Yup if they get it right of course they will because they are playing with a great deal more money than you or I. But just as I don`t always get it right nor do they...See Mr Odey. Most of us longs here are betting against the ii that are short....That`s just how it is, atm with going long PFC from around or after MAY `17 I bet you I made more than Crispin with TLW in `15/16...Just saying like. IMO | nicebut
18/9/2017 16:58 | Nicebut , If thats what you think then fine but i bet you one thing, these companies will make a lot more money out of PFC then you are I will whether the price goes up or down !!!! | oohrogerpalmer
18/9/2017 16:20 | Think a lot of people get misled with shorts, like us PI's buy at a price and hopefully the price goes up and sell at a profit most people think shorters do the opposite . In reality the vast majority of shorts are held by the larger insti companies and all they are doing is playing the % game . The will have a large holding in a long position and doing a fine balancing act and will buy or sell a % of that holding to generate a profit as the price goes up or down. A lot of these companies don't want to be exposed like us so will take out shorts to balance it out. I have never been and advocate of shorting but whilst it's legal then companies will use it to their advantage. They will not lose out when the price rockets like you think , they will still make money on them. | oohrogerpalmer
18/9/2017 15:50 | I don't see why anyone is getting excited about the shorters having to pay the divi. The shorters were 6% short before the SFO announcement, so had already sold many millions of shares at above 8GBP.So on those they are sitting on a paper profit of about 350p per share. And with all the churn we've had in the last 4 months they've probably bought back, banked the profit and gone short again (many times over).Having to pay a 9o divi is not going to persuade them to close. And as lodgeview said, the share price loses 9p on Thursday anyway. | paa65
18/9/2017 14:35 | It's about time this got back to where it was a few weeks ago at circa 470p, it's taking quite a while to bounce back. Looking forward to the dividend payment. | chelsea81
18/9/2017 14:05 | Hope it costs them a fu*k*ng lot by the price hitting £4.80 by Wednesday. | kulvinder
18/9/2017 14:02 | Indeed- But they (the shorters) still have to physically pay out the divi amount. So it costs them to be short xx% and it will cost them divi amount too. Hopefully it will also cost them because the share price will go up...We will see. I was figuring (hoping) that this would rally hard into the ex div date- I guess there is still time? | nicebut
18/9/2017 10:41 | If they were to sell I assume? If the share price then increases after the drop then the would be out of pocket had they not sold? | rhatton
18/9/2017 10:31 | I don't understand everyone saying the shorters will have to pay the divi. The share price will drop by the divi amount so, although they have to pay the divi, they get it back with the drop in share price no? | lodgeview
18/9/2017 09:47 | Shorts still showing at 8.55%. So the Shorters are going to have to pay the DIVI. O/T. NY Boy check out REDT and ORM. As always DYOR. Good news re AMC today. Apologies re O/T. ATB. | matrix25
18/9/2017 09:02 | Glen. Yep, nuog it's always been a 1-3 year hold or shorter if it outperforms. Here, buy the dips, heading to test 480p soon. Let's have another contract win to crank up this week's vols! | ny boy
18/9/2017 08:06 | NB Ex-dividend in 3 days time! | woodhawk
15/9/2017 20:03 | Yep boy gl are you still in nu dog 🤔 | glenkaz
15/9/2017 18:52 | I have put the outcome of findings of SFO to come through Q4 - 2018, of course any earlier would be welcome, hopefully by then the share price will be over 500p, then 800p on no findings of wrong doing! | ny boy
15/9/2017 18:43 | Thinking 🚀🇯 | glenkaz
15/9/2017 17:31 | I can see a 4+M trade - it's a UT (Uncrossed) - it's not a sell at all, it's the result of an auction calculation. BTW You can't rely on those 'Buy' and 'Sell' guesses (like the ADvFN trades page)- many people can buy at the 'Bid' price and sell at the 'Offer' - and all points in between. I've made several trades today - buying at the 'Bid' and selling at the 'Offer' so all were reported wrongly because the algorithm is completely flawed. You can't second guess anything by trying to interpret individual Trades - it's a mug's game. | woodhawk
15/9/2017 17:29 | 🤡👌 cheers £££ | glenkaz
15/9/2017 17:27 | - see below - | woodhawk
15/9/2017 17:01 | Why so large sell at the end of the day.. Like 7 million shares? | vk74
15/9/2017 13:16 | "we would expect a resolution with no findings of wrong-doing to materially boost Petrofac's share price". That's an understatement!! It would rocket. | woodhawk
15/9/2017 13:07 | OT Surely the Dow has risen far too high? Thoughts please? | lodgeview
15/9/2017 12:24 | It's just the wider market is down - probably throwing toys out of the pram due to possible tiny interest rate rise. A lot of my stocks are now looking oversold across the board, so I reckon there might be a bit of a rally next week. Ohh - and I've just noticed there's been a 'bucket bomb' on the London Underground. | woodhawk |
