c.$60m cash to fund capex/debt ($17m working capital +$45m other net current assets)
-$103m capital expenditure commitments
-$222m debt/borrowings due in 2.5 years

=$265m balance to be funded by operations (operating outflow H1 2023: -$24m)

-$100m long-term environmental liabilities the cherry on top

This was always going to be under the cosh given the huge debt it was saddled with by previous management.

I also think they are paying the price for the huge reduction in CAPEX that took place in 2021 post the bondholder agreement. Capital allocation was unbalanced towards paying down gross debt and production misses have been the result. The decline in diamond prices has then compounded their problems.

It was high risk but the shareholder rewards would have been huge IF production & pricing had held up long enough to clear debt & start paying dividends again. Alas that didn’t happen & now they look to be heading backwards in the near term.

Diamond index falling amid global uncertainty they say - which may result in a nuclear war at some point I take it.- Maybe yes maybe not- So, having nothing to lose this one is a strong buy for me.
