Yes not very pretty at all, net debt still rising and despite the equity raise still higher than last year. Think I will be doing similar and selling up.

Banking profits and stepping out for the moment until the dust settles. I've been trying to find my notes on the Williamson situation re the tax receivables, but it was accumulating at several £m per 1/4, up to £20m at the end of the last financial year if I remember correctly. But it only gets a single line in this update with no figures, and yet the figures for Williamson 'issues' are already larger than most of the other 'excuses' given for rising debt.

Not a good sign when companies have to brush things under the carpet.

It's still looking messy, glad I top-sliced. Too many things not flowing smoothly enough to get that debt reduced. Super-tanker still on the verge of turning in my view, but how negatively will the market react?

Hopefully so George :-)

Done the same as you a top sliced a little but keeping a similar holding to yourself for the long term hold.

Looking good on the short-closing front too, Systemica are being forced to buy back at the moment.

Just sold 10k shares 25% of what I have, they have jumped 20% so seems silly not to. Will try and hold the rest for longer term. The share is so volatile could easily be back in the 30's next week for no reason. Bought some more gemd.

Tanzania – Tanzanian industry clash results in new mining minister.
• Tanzania appoints a new mining minister amid a prolonged spat between the government and gold producer Acacia over a $190bn tax bill, which has severely limited operations in the East African nation.
• Dotto Biteko is the third mining minister President John Magufuli has appointed since he was elected in 2015.
• “He knows the mining sector well, so we expect continuity of policy”, according Tanzania Chamber of Minerals and Energy executive secretary Gerald Mturi. Biteko has previously lead a parliamentary investigation that concluded there was widespread tax evasion and smuggling in the gemstone business.
• In 2017, the government passed laws that the industry complained would be costly and onerous. Among other things, the laws hike taxes on mineral exports, mandate a higher government stake in mining operations and force the construction of local smelters to encourage domestic value-add.
• The reforms are part of a wider push by African governments to claw back revenues from mining, which have initially negatively impacted listed foreign firms working in Tanzania.

On the verge of a 3 month high. Some much needed cheer. Fingers crossed that it continues.

There was an article earlier in the week on how Acacia/Barrick/Bristowe would be sorting the problems they have had in Tanzania, fingers crossed that petra sort their issues out as well.
