It's the same every year George, have a look back through. It seems to be standard text for 'in case of emergency'. It's just that they had to use it this year!

Authority to allot Relevant Securities
12. That the Directors be generally and unconditionally authorised,
in accordance with Bye-Law 2.4 of the Company’s Bye-Laws, to allot
Relevant Securities (within the meaning of that Bye-Law) up to an
aggregate nominal amount of £28,844,549.50 (being 288,445,495
ordinary shares) provided that this authority shall expire at the
conclusion of the next AGM of the Company or, if earlier, 15 months
from the date on which this resolution is passed unless such authority
is revoked or varied by a resolution of the shareholders in a general
meeting, save that the Company may, before such expiry, make offers
or agreements which would or might require Relevant Securities
to be allotted and the Directors may allot Relevant Securities in
pursuance of such offer or agreement notwithstanding that
the authority conferred by this resolution has expired.

De Beers updated this morning re latest rough diamond sales. They noted recent historical weakness in small, low value diamonds but said that there were signs the corner might have turned here also.

Nice to see some blue here again today. The Bloomberg story is old news really, that's why even our shoddy management team have been gearing strategy over the last 3 years towards better quality over quantity.

Yes fingers crossed for a bounce back. I would be more than happy with 50p by christmas. They are unlikely to see £1 again imo.

What annoys me about that mine is they spent about $60M on capex in the last three years and then sell it for $20M.

I think this highlights nicely why Petra is getting out of this mine, there seems to be an embedded culture of diamonds disappearing, so much so they they seem to be planning to tag/monitor all the staff!

Fingers crossed it holds above 40p, some pull back was to be expected IMO. Roll on some steady progress and good news flow in the coming months
