Another good day and already 7% into profit. I should add more into this share. It is still under valued in my opinion.

Pleased to see these close at a new high, as the buying continues. If my forescat of 5.1p for 2012 proves correct, then PEN is still good value on a per of 9.

Pleased to see you are back online cfro. PEN share price has performed very well since the interims, which is not surprising when the certain figures are looked at in the interim results.

EPS = 2.21p + 208%
Net Cash = £2.06m + 195%
Dividend = 0.60p +20%
Net Margin = 8.2% +103%

Still more to come imo.

Brilliant post IC2. I suspect you will be somewhere near right there with your forecasts.

Forward PE still very much less than ten here anyway and a very good week for the share price.

Historically H2 earnings are stronger than H1 earnings, going back 6 years and not including two extreme years (the largest and smallest difference), which should give a more reliable breakdown. The average split is 41/59.

If repeated for 2012 the EPS would be 5.10p. WH Ireland have been sensible and left PEN some room to announce another ahead update before the finals imv. And this also makes sense of their 59p price target.

Another excellent day for PEN with buyers thoughout the day.

I calculate at 42p, with EPS of 2.21 that the PE ratio is 17.65. I am comfortable with this. If EPS doubles in next 6 months, as to half the PE ratio, as suggested then I wouldn't complain. Market cap 6.87 times to Pre-tax profit, and 20% Net Cash comparative to Market Cap, I feel this share is still under valued, even after such good results. All other fundamentals are within my limits. Has this company still been missed by the markets? I guess so!

A good day today, saw my investment into slight positive territory after only a few days. I wish the EMS was much larger so I could invest more at the guarantee spread, however I am happy to have found this share.

Increased volume today nearly all buys, looks like a positive press article or broker recommendation to me?

Yes, even buying at 42p you are buying on a pe of around 9.5 against earnings of 4.42p and using next years earnings of 4.98p then the pe falls even lower to 8.3.

cfro, not a bad estimate but not a close as my 4.43p estimation :o)

PEN are exactly the type of stock I want to hold at this time, why hold companies that are trading inline when you can hold stocks with sound balance sheets and accelerating earnings ahead of market expectations.

These will be highlighted either in Investors Chronicle, SCSW or weekend press, imo, which will bring in fresh buyers.

Yes, will be interesting to see if they lift the H2 dividend even more than 20%. PEN seem to be firing on all cylinders.

Companies should announce significant news as soon as they are aware of it. The trading statement, perhaps with the benefit of recently generated internal accounts for most of July and August in addition to the formal accounts for H1 that they would be ahead of estimates for the full year.

It may well be that until July and August numbers came in they would have felt unable to be so bullish about the full year. So, rather than being tardy they may have been very prompt in issuing the trading update.

HTH. All only IMHO. Cheers, Martin

New estimates from WH Ireland

2012 PBT = £1.51m and EPS = 4.42p
2013 PBT = £1.70m and EPS = 4.96p

Which gives a per of 8.82 for 2012 and 7.84 for 2013, with a PEG of only 0.09 for 2012 and 0.64 for 2013.

Looks rather cheap to me.

Is it usual practice for a company to give a trading update just 6 days before the results. Why not just wait for the results, or give an update at least a month before. Seems strange but maybe others with more experience of the small cap arena
have seen this before?

Maybe, but it's a 10 year high for PEN....when I bought a chunk at 8p I'm not going to be greedy, particularly when they passed their dividend 2/3 years back. Probably is too early, so will hold the rest until the yield goes down to 2-3% and then re-consider.

Sold a few more today. Still good value, but made a big profit on these so thought it best to take a few more off the table as 39p was getting a better price. It would be nice to see some more contract wins to take this to fresh highs. Happy to hold the rest for a bit to see how this does. I've been in since the lows of < 10p so it's recovered really well.

Thanks Enami, A 37% increase in their target price indicates how the estimates might increase imv.

The link below is a research note from WH Ireland just after the last trading update, still awaiting latest forecasts.
