Thats true Ima, though any investor that pays true worth leaves themselves with limited upside.

True worth versus what investors are prepared to pay can be miles apart.

Robbie,

I think the Directors bought before at 81p.....so this could be a damage limitation purchase.

Order book now very weak - looks like the directors buys were pushing the shareprice up - now they're spent the sellers take over.

Blimey directors have bought 2.6 million shares this morning. £900,000 worth. No position but that kind of buying says something.

Buying opportunity surely - if history repeats itself theses guys will take out a few more of the the smaller boys and tidy up. I don't think any better buy in the sector. Lots of assetts and very well managed.

Hard to call

Buying was high last night from 33p to 35.5p at the close because despite drop in profit, this is now seen as undervalued by many. Conversely, ACE (Accident Exchange) reaction was a "two wave" price drop action before it bottomed, look at the chart.

i think fair to say 2008 will be a very poor year for sales and margins

Eastbourne, if you're still around.....looks like
the speculation was correct !

In Motor Trader 8th October

Pendragon has closed seven Volvo showrooms.........there has been speculation that the company was forced to close the sites because it was unable to sell them..............comes shortly after industry speculation that Pendragon may be forced to issue a profit warning due to poor September car sales.

Looking even better for a takeover by private equity in the new year.

At 50p, you can pick up the business for less than nothing, once you've sold to relet the properties.

Staggering value imvso.
