08/2/2017 20:33 | Playtech, the leading global gaming software group, has announced the acquisition of Eyecon for a maximum consideration of £50m. Eyecon is a supplier of online gaming slots software and was founded in Brisbane, Australia in 1997. Eyecon has a particular focus on bingo audiences and has the industry-leading soft gaming slot ‘Fluffy Favourites.’ The company distributes content direct to operators via its own Remote Gaming Server (RGS). Playtech’s bingo network is a client of Eyecon alongside companies such as 888 Holdings and Virtue Fusion. Nearly all of Eyecon’s revenue is derived from the UK and almost all of the revenue the company generates is fully regulated. | malcolmmm

08/2/2017 18:14 | I would like them to merge with adyen | eh9
08/2/2017 16:52 | MALCOLMMM - if we take Skrill as an example Pays published YE results and announced the acquisition on the same day. I suspect having a materially final set of numbers is important for offer/funding docs to make sure it all stacks up correctly etc.... | wolfhound1
08/2/2017 16:46 | Feels like a Curry's ad this evening! | juzzer100
08/2/2017 16:27 | Would they want to get the results out of the way before or after an acquisition? or even at the same time | malcolmmm
08/2/2017 16:25 | all togeather now.......push !!!! | wolfhound1

08/2/2017 16:10 | Scothernman, Personally i wouldn't worry about the short positions as i think it highly unlikely that these are naked shorts and thus we can only speculate what the other side of the transaction is - and life's too short! | stuart37
08/2/2017 10:48 | Worth scrutinising JL's language - "Bold M&A" - so most likely this is a merger or even a JV - given we just appointed a CMO | wolfhound1
08/2/2017 10:28 | speculate to accumulate :) very strong reversal - looking good to challenge 400p | wolfhound1
08/2/2017 10:27 | I can't get my head round the Worldpay option. It's around 3X the largest takeover the PAYS could fund given their own words isn't it? There's bold and then there's ridiculous. P.S. Nice turnaround today. | sheep_herder
08/2/2017 09:22 | With all due respect any speculation on Worldpay is just that and is not doing us any favours. You may be correct but the expectations you are creating leave us vulnerable to being burned. | polythene
08/2/2017 09:18 | The USA has been talking about online gambling as long as I can remember. As far as I am aware they currently allow it in New Jersey but I read that it had basically been a flop in terms of tax take so I am not sure that many states see it as a way to fill budget deficits. If they are going to make an acquisition I would like to see something that dilutes their dependency on the gambling market. | salpara111
08/2/2017 09:07 | Nurdin...... The Democratic Governor didn't specifically mention online gambling in his speech but ,as lomax remarks, there is a hole in the budget that needs to be plugged via expansion of gaming.....whether that includes online remains to be determined by the Republican controlled House and Senate:From onlinepokerreport :What's next for online gambling and the PA budget?Later today, the state's Republicans - which control both chambers of the General Assembly - will weigh in on the budget proposal. How much Wolf's proposal meshes with their vision of the budget will be key in determining what happens next. What is clear is that the state needs to do something about the budget, which will experience an estimated $3 billion shortfall at its current pace, through the end of FY 2017-18.No matter how much Wolf and Republicans disagree on other matters, it does appear that they have common ground on gambling. There are at least three different gambling bills that will surface in the statehouse with iGaming in them. The bottom line: Nearly everyone in the government wants to see the revenue from online gambling in the budget. But will the state succeed where it failed last year, and actually pass a bill legalizing online gambling? | mip55
08/2/2017 09:05 | Thanks Iomax. | nurdin
08/2/2017 08:44 | It is back on the agenda for 2017, as is NY. They are now forecasting $250M in revenues from gaming 'related' taxes over their next 2 fiscal years, extra revenues are required to plug a budget deficit. It is however anyone's guess as to if/when they actually do anything (as it has been on the agenda for the last 3/4 years.........) | lomax99
08/2/2017 08:34 | What happened to the on line gambling bill in Pennsylvania ? Have lost track now. | nurdin
08/2/2017 08:15 | I can see why WPG would be interested in PAYS, they need to do something to improve their moribund margins(!). Their broker anticipates full yr EPS of only 11p per share.... | lomax99
08/2/2017 07:59 | Worldpay and Paysafe have both set the same results day.... | eh9 |
