Thanks Mip55 - as I understand it they have 28 days from 4 Aug to send out initial docs or else file for an extension to that date... they may do the latter if ii's are not on board by 1st week of sept - which in itself will probably necessitate an increased offer - ii's will quite happily sit on their hands IMHO until proper offer if forthcoming...

And .... in breaking news Worldpay is definitely going to be taking over Apple. Or Samsung. Or both. It will all be announced next Tuesday or maybe Wednesday and we know it's true because EH9's little friends on Twitter told him. That means he'll become enormously rich and he can sneer at PAYS shareholders in our rowing boats as he sips pink gin on board his super yacht.

@oohrp - not possible as far as i know - due to large number of pi's (39%) this will have to go for a vote at general meeting - we as yet don't have a date for meeting as far as I know ?

Lack of trading volume is a clue. Budco will not want to go into that meeting and get a no - they know their offer was a low ball one - now they will try and play cheap just like they did with the BOD - expect an improved offer well before meeting - the level of that is likely to be hammered out between budco and a few large ii's - the abscence of news tells me ii's are digging in for a much improved offer.

I have a horrible feeling that come the end of the month we will just get a statement saying , all done & dusted with 80%+ in favour.
Hope I'm wrong but complete lack of any news against this offer does not bode well!!!

Parience Bolstaf - it has been 3 weeks into what is likely to be a 3 month process...early days

With only 12% support the deal will beed to be upped to attract the additional 64% ....

A serious counter offer will wait until they know what level will be required to get 75% and then trump that and win...they probably wont show hand too early.

But at a PE of 14 when the reat of the market is at 30....others will look at pays and say anything up to 25 is v good value

I feel you may be correct Wolfhound But I dont have to like it!!!
The one thing I'm not so confident is if another party is interested. What makes us any more appealing than Worldpay ??? there was no bidding war for them? If no competition then how much will these thieves manage to get it for?

The Jeanie is out of the bottle Bolstaf - PAYS is in play - and I suspect we will eventually be taken out - but for considerably more than 590p !!

exactly it is why Vantiv spiked after buying Wpay. Take some costs out and the profits will look even better.

Vantiv's main competitors are First Data, Chase Paymentech and BA Merchant Services.

Wonder if our Chairman has put a call in?

Well on that PE, let alone the cheapskate offer MBO/CVC Budco are offering, we are immediately earnings enhancing....... (especially with the extra synergies on offer....)

You would have tought Pays would have at least issued a press release.

"Pays pleased to announce VP of Being Bought speaks fluent American, Freefone number installed"

I know we're all hoping for another bid but that would surely be seen in high volumes as the potential bidder or a surrogate builds a stake before launching an offer?
