07/8/2017 23:30 | @ralph - have another look BONS - Are net Flat !! They are long and short the shares in equal measure. Per RNS - they were increasing the overall client position by 1,350,000 shares They Bought - 1,350,000 @ 596p increasing overall position to just shy of 5.4mn shares They then sold performance on those 1,350,000 shares via a TRS to be just shy of 5.4mn short ( i.e. client is long the PAYS exposure and BONS is short the exposure via the TRS . Overall Bons is long PAYS in the shares and short the same number of PAYS shares (technically the performance of the shares) - this leaves BONS overall Flat - BONS client X is overall long 5.4mn shares (a) Purchases and sales Class of relevant security Purchase/sale Number of securities Price per unit 0.01p ordinary Purchase 1,350,000 5.96 GBP (b) Cash-settled derivative transactions Class of relevant security Product description e.g. CFD Nature of dealing e.g. opening/closing a long/short position, increasing/reducing a long/short position Number of reference securities Price per unit 0.01p ordinary Total Return Swap Increasing a short position 1,350,000 5.96 GBP | wolfhound1
07/8/2017 22:59 | Here's my prediction for tomorrow. The update will be stonkingly positive. The share price will open up at 630p, will fall back a little then rise again in the afternoon to finish at 650p. On Wednesday, WB announces he's found a project for the $100bn dollar cash pile he's stuffed down the back of the sofa and that is to buy all of PAYS, lock stock & barrel for 750p/share. And then I woke up. | marine boy
07/8/2017 22:42 | As you can tell from the spelling I have been imbibing. So factor that into whether you think I am posting sense. | ralphmalph
07/8/2017 22:38 | My prediction for the trading update tomorrow. The figures will be ok/good but not fantastic. The SPIN form Lieenough will be negative. The market will sell pays early on. The market makers will sucker early sellers then the pice will rise back inthe afternoon as reality hits. Look for a big volume day. The traders will want lots of volatility and will put a lot of cash to achieve that. It is their business and how they make their money so do not knock them, it makes for a functioning market. | ralphmalph
07/8/2017 22:34 | Thanks Wolfhound and Ralph. You both are GEM of information. Keep it up. | callmebwana
07/8/2017 22:34 | @wolf - No I think you have it wrong. BONS have not bought 5.4mill shares. They have a controlling interest in 5.4 million shares they have bought control over from the owner via a CFD, Section 2 of the 8.3. They are short all 5.4mill via a CFD. Section 3 (b) they have just increased the short position by 1.3mill CFDS. | ralphmalph
07/8/2017 22:06 | Lol bluebottle :) Funny I was just saying to the wife ......... | wolfhound1

07/8/2017 19:54 | V kind folks, glad it is helpful - PAYS is picking up the cheque for my time :) ....roll on the bonus cheque curteousy of a bidding war | wolfhound1
07/8/2017 19:14 | Top work wolfhound! | lomax99
07/8/2017 19:11 | I take my hat off to you wolfhound. Your knowledge and understanding is worth payment. | slaccs
07/8/2017 18:09 | I think you are interpreting Bank of Novia Scotia incorrectly - there is a client on the other side. Now we know who bought chunk over the last few days at 596p BONS Bought 5.4mn shares at 596p They then wrote a total return swap ( TRS - OTC derivative) for the 5.4mn shares presumably with a 3rd party client who doesnt want market to know they just went long- hence use of a TRS or possibly wanted to use leverage to take a bigger position (normally 10-15% down). The TRS gives the owner the return on the performance of PAYS shares - so someone is taking a leveraged bet that PAYS will rise. Net net BONS - flat exposure on PAYS Client X - long 5.4mn Interestingly - a Canadian Bank was used - does someone in Canada have some insight to another bid....now who else comes from Canada...hmmmmmmmmmm | wolfhound1
07/8/2017 17:43 | I don't like whats going on here at the moment so have sold most, making money with UPGS, XLM ,OTB,AFX, Medica etc, still have a holding in PAYS and have make a very good profit so cant complain. | malcolmmm
07/8/2017 17:33 | Exactly Lomax! What next I wonder, You couldn't make it up could you. | bolstaf
07/8/2017 17:25 | More manipulation aimed at securing the deal at the existing level?Probably related to Bidco parties indirectly, with a matching long elsewhere. | lomax99
07/8/2017 17:20 | On the London South East site there seems to be 13 RNS mostly shorts? | stockbob
07/8/2017 17:15 | Thats seems a fair sized amount there. (5,343,959) hope this isn't the start of things to come? gla | stockbob
07/8/2017 16:51 | Bank of Nova Scotia has just announce a sizeable short position. | ralphmalph
07/8/2017 16:48 | Wolfhound if you can put aside the bid what is your guess for the statement re performance increase ?? And do you think it may interest a bid from elsewhere ??I'm getting less confident by the day that this bid will fail and want to be still holding these in a year or two.If there is no other interest dose that make our take on pays value a bit ambitious ? I really felt this share as going to follow me into retirement. | bolstaf
07/8/2017 16:20 | Trading statement out in the morning - lets see what action that brings | wolfhound1
07/8/2017 15:03 | It's the old estate agent conundrum - not really any incentive to get more for your property/shareholder It's now down to the shareholders to reject or a new bidder to emerge. | stuart37
07/8/2017 13:21 | A couple of weeks ago I would have expected todays board would have all been about tomorrows interim results . how important are they now for us ? and how important are they for the BOD ? If it wasn't for the bid surely we would be celebrating 20%plus and the acquisition .I would like to think we see the true figures tomorrow but I don't think the BOD are looking for someone up river to offer more ? | bolstaf
07/8/2017 12:26 | I was led to believe that blackstone cant buy in market above the offer price. Probably explains why the price has constantly been above the offer. Market knows the offer is too low. Normally in a t/o the price is usually a few pence below the offer price which enables the bidder to scoop up all the loose shares. They may be just buying them for a client!!! | oohrogerpalmer
07/8/2017 12:22 | @maffs - My guess is that their trading businesses are working independently from the corporate advice side but because the CA side is involved they have to disclose it. Those wonderful chinese walls. | ralphmalph
07/8/2017 12:19 | If I could i would be putting most PAYS gains into XLM as quickly as possible before the rerate over there. However already hugely overweight in XLM and can't put all my eggs in the one basket. Will therefore wait here not selling a share quietly confident of 650p minimum in due course. | cg8riverside |
