A group of us played in a chess congress at Exeter at week end and visited their shop and we were all very impressed with their products including smoke salmon scramble egg and a number of delicious cakes.

Yes you seem to be correct re 400p ceiling. From April 17 todate it appears to have spent much of that period in the 350p to 400p channel. So I would feel more confident if the share price bounces off this level back towards 400p

If it drops below 350p I think then I am a seller till it finds a new channel to move in

One of the most impressive factors about CAKE is the consistency of achieving 23 month Payback on new openings. They mentioned that 23 months number in the latest Prelims, and in severalk other results Announcements going back to the IPO document. For a Roll Out, payback achieved (or ROCE) is probably the most important number. No other roll out I have reviewed (RBG, GYM, FUL etc) achieve anything like as fast a payback, more with that level of consistency.

blog confirms they recently opened two stores in one week: Cwmbran and Chesterfield.

not sure the seating outside the Chesterfield shop is kosher though, can a wheelchair/buggy get by on the footpath?

If they are seriously considering a deal, you have to wonder whether it's being done for the benefit of RCP/Johnson or for CAKE shareholders as a whole.

Bread's 2017 accounts haven't been filed yet and today was the filing deadline. The 2016 top line grew 42% compared to 2015, so if they grew at a similar rate in 2017, £100m revenue sounds like the right ballpark, and that's not an insignificant figure compared to the £114m revenues CAKE generated last year.

A £150m price tag when they only have £22m of cash suggests a chunky equity fund raise or a lot of debt, or both. Not sure I'm keen on that at this point in the business cycle.

i read that the bid is being considered at £150m, that Bread Holdings have sales of £100m, and that Luke Johnson is chairman of both. i am away on holiday with intermittent internet, so can anyone see from companies house records what Profit Bread make?
