Story in the Times we are looking to buy Bread Holdings

Cheers nw99. Bread Holdings owns Gails. Would be a cracking tie-up IMO.

Not even back up to where it was pre-unwarranted sell-off. Still feels like there is some concern out there

Patisserie results looked alright as sales grew by 9.7% to £114.2m. Operating profit rose to £20m, as basic EPS is 16.36 pence.

The company operates in 199 stores and for next year it will open a further 20 stores. They are supplying 18 Sainsbury’s counters.
The average payback period is 23 months.

Financials in detail
Today’s EPS of 16 pence means Patisserie is on 20 times earnings. The company has a superb balance sheet with equity of £92m (30% of market value), £20m in cash and total liabilities of ONLY £6.6m.
Profits are republicated in the cash flow statement, as net cash profit amounts to £20.4m vs. net profit of £16.3m.
Meanwhile, it paid out £3.2m in dividend, up from £2.7m.
The ONLY concern is the sales growth coming in below 10%, down from 13% last year.

For more on Patisserie, which includes:

1). Mission Objective;
2). Quality of earnings;
3). Profits converting to cash;
4). ROCE and Capex to depreciation pattern;
5). Long-term share price projection.

Consumer spending is reducing however, bound to have an impact. Could be time to take a few profits at this level.

the 23 month payback they achieve on new stores is consistent with every results release they ever make, including the original IPO documents. Good results, all as i had expected

"We have delivered another year of excellent financial results, achieving our targets in a challenging environment. We opened 20 new stores many of which are performing ahead of expectations, and the performance of our new bakeries in the Republic of Ireland is encouraging. Our indulgent, affordable treats remain attractive to customers, and our flexible business model has enabled us to mitigate inflationary cost pressures. With a highly cash generative group, strong brands and a focused management team I remain confident of another year of growth and achievement."

Basingstoke Patisserie Valerie opened November 22nd.

hxxp://www.patisserie-valerie.co.uk/blog.aspx/1/78/Patisserie-Valerie-Basingstoke-Now-Open

this is four stores in a month: Wigan, Glasgow, Liverpool and Basingstoke. Might we get our '20 stores a year' target upgraded with results tomorrow?
