Knowing his huge ego, the large dent to that will be more important to him than the financial loss.

Hi jotoha2,

..What is that saying , the Buck stops at the top?

Or maybe the Italian proverb : " A fish rots from the head...?"

How other companies still have him as a director after this debacle is beyond belief. Actually nothing surprises me anymore. He’ll probably get a knighthood soon.

I guess that represents the whole of the central office finance department.

I still think the F.D. had a drink, drugs or gambling problem or perhaps was struggling to 'keep up with the Jones's' and pay private school fees bills or a combination of all!

The partners to Causeway Capital in the purchase of the rump were A P Blakemore & Son Ltd whose auditors are Grant Thornton. They own a large number of Spar convenience shops. Maybe they are going to put a PV Express in every Spar unit! Good luck to them.

I always knew Luke as 'cool hand Luke'.

I think that recovery of reputation will be a long process that is if he was not involved in the fraud. He will never be able to float a company again although I say never say never.

Cool Hand Luke to recover as well:

Johnson made mistakes with Patisserie Valerie, and doubtless they will haunt him, but by the standards of other business chiefs who find themselves in the news for the wrong reasons, he's a thoughtful and intelligent individual whose reputation should recover.

£13m = just enough to pay the primary creditor = Luke Johnson's £10m loan in October and his £3m recent loan to pay staff wages.

Coincidence?
