18/5/2016 11:45 | You can very roughly work out lfl (revenue divided by number of stores) but obviously depends on size/position etc and also I would imagine a new store would generate more turnover initially. It comes out at about +1.8%. Also not mentioning lfl can only be that it doesnt look that great - it is a key number afterall. However there are a lot of other positives. | artibee
18/5/2016 11:34 | Is there any known reason why share price fell back from £4.40 to current levels ... | staverly
18/5/2016 11:02 | Superb results. High rating fully justified here imo. Might add some more. | aishah
18/5/2016 08:15 | Does not state lfl unless I have missed it.increase in turnover is approx =to increase in outlets | haroldthegreat
18/5/2016 08:11 | Never seen such strong like-for-likes. Enormously strong. Just look at those percentage increases:- Financial summary 6 months 6 months ended ended -------------------- 31 March 31 March Change 2016 2015 -------------------- GBPm GBPm -------------------- Revenue 50.0 43.7 14.4% -------------------- EBITDA* 10.6 8.7 21.3% -------------------- Pre-tax profit 8.4 7.0 20.6% -------------------- Basic earnings per share 6.68 5.50 21.5% -------------------- Diluted earnings per share 6.61 5.46 21.1% -------------------- Interim dividend per 1.00 pence - - share -------------------- * EBITDA is calculated as operating profit before depreciation and amortisation. Highlights -- Group revenue of GBP50.0m up by 14.4% (2015: GBP43.7m) -- Gross profit of GBP39.2m up by 16.1% (2015: GBP33.7m) -- EBITDA of GBP10.6m up by 21.3% (2015: GBP8.7m) -- Significant growth in pre-tax profit to GBP8.4m up by 20.6% (2015: GBP7.0m) -- Operating cash flows of GBP8.9m with cash conversion of 96% -- Basic earnings per share of 6.68p up by 21.5% (2015: 5.50p) ALL IMO. 18/5/2016 07:44 | Like for likes aren't great, i think it's too expensive. | spooky
18/5/2016 07:32 | Very strong results. Cash flow, cash balances, cash-funded store roll-out all fantastic. Introduction of maiden interim dividend bodes very well for likely increase in final dividend. Every time I go to a branch of PatVal, they are rammed. And there is no effective high-street competition to PatVal. Let's face it, selling tea and scones and cakes to the Brits is filling an insatiable demand. They just need to make sure they train all their kitchen staff properly to ensure a uniform quality of preparation of their hot food offering. Over time, this stock will perform very well indeed. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa

03/5/2016 19:14 | Not sure. For me, the risk of holding until after the results on the 18th is less than the risk of selling now - there aren't many growth stories like this around at the moment...! | ben12358

11/4/2016 09:26 | Luke Johnson has bought Brighton Pier. What a good spot for a nice coffee and cake shop........ | keyno
26/1/2016 10:45 | Sorry but 425 is far too low in my opinion. I see 500-600p+ by year end. But good to see another broker initiating coverage. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
26/1/2016 10:00 | Investec Initiates coverage with a BUY. Sets target price to 425p. | aishah
25/1/2016 13:45 | A swift recovery underway. Every time I go to a PatVal , they are rammed. As a chain, PatVal have popped up all over the place with great rapidity and are clearly a great success. People in England love their tea-and-cakes and PatVal are hitting a sweet-spot and are filling a yawning and obvious gap in the market. PatVal's all day dining menu is equally successful with some great favourite dishes beloved by the population. Luke Johnson built Pizza Express into an enormous success and flogged it. In my view, he will build PatVal into an even mightier chain and repeat the same success he already achieved by a large £££ ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
15/1/2016 16:22 | I have been fearful for the past 12 months! I don't like the look of the markets, I hope we don't see 3500 again but I wouldn't bet on it. All the best | toyin
15/1/2016 11:15 | When others are greedy be fearful, when others are fearful be greedy..... ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
14/1/2016 20:28 | Greggs crashed on news. I think this is investors taking gains just as everything else went to pot and so it caught downward momentum. | dluk |
