Why does a shell of a company need to employ an expensive Finance Director? I have no issue with Nick Trew's salary and feel he is doing a very good job.

The general is full of bluster. It's the courts that will decide.

The General has updated his blog.

Looks like any hope of a 'negotiated' settlement is out the window as the Mozambique side reckon Bellingham is a bell end.

Loverat, I would agree that a placing here would be at a deep discount, assuming that they could get one away. Still best avoided IMO.

Lady.gA change in the Supreme Court could be coincidental, though you never know.I'm holding tight. The last time I withdrew from one of these legal case investments, a decision came the next week and I missed the boat after holding for 6 months. Not doing that again.Fingers crossed though, having sunk funds and waiting is frustrating

No oral arguements, means no court date. A judge or panel of judges, are deciding the matter in chambers. The first we will know is when they announce their decision to whether the English court ruling has jurisdiction on the matter. I believe the commercial contract confirms this, but I'm just a layman. I also liked the chairmanship candar, though he is duty bound to make cautious statements.

John,

I think I saw a story a month or so ago saying the Head of the Supreme Court in Mozambique had just been replaced because he wasn't up to scratch. My guess is he was not only poor at his job, but may have been linked in some way to the General, hence our case never got to see light of day. So "months" rather than "years" looks likely now. Well worth a top-up at sub 0.4p IMHO

"No oral arguments"That means no advertised court date then? If so, good that explains the silence. "Months or Years" comment was just a legal nicety (IMHO) I would 3 months in chambers would be enough to close out the due diligence and paperwork. So I would hope for a decision this summer. I'm no lawyer, but not entirely stupid. :)

Indeed. If you want to see something really funny is the above poster squirming after he was diluted 41% today. See CCE thread.

Bellingham has only had his feet under the desk for 4 months. As a shareholder I have faith in his ability. I guess you are not a shareholder so why bother telling us what you think! Meaningless really.

I thought the new Chairman's statement was excellent, clear and determined. Not sure what others expected to see! Cash-cover is good and business as usual as far as I can see, so no need for any change in share price IMHO. I did pick up on a couple of new things in his statement - one of them was "seeking compensation for the loss of value" and the other "seeking other ways to add value to the company". Both of which are positives.
