I have already told the mates in the other board, coming accross me accidentally means luck for them also.mqny casess somehow I have found great strories, right around the good timing. Fully respecf and feel empathy to those have been folliwing or investing on the actual stock, many cases for long years, have all the info I havent, and respectfully ask them always. So its more of luck then my geniousness. On PAT board someone posted the fact of Zeniths first beneficial ruling,,and I bought in rapidly, unusually only aftrr that made some research, then bought more. My average may be around 0.35-0.40 NOK. Today at 1 have oulled the bulk of my initial stake. Thats the way it goes, like it better, a few step forward and only zero or a small step back. Similarly with ETM (Greenland Mineral, or Energy Transit Minerals) that was also a grrat timing around christmas (Trump helped and Marcin Michalek then Swen Lorenz, but hotcopper and others also wrote about that. Russoro Mining was my greatest play in terms of %, GRZ also a good one. Other sort, but a ued a nice move with GCM where my cautious attitude helped. And luckily only tiny left position in GBU, which is the one I think have a chance to a succesful annulment request. Some greenx, small MON . So, based on my lucky timing, you are at the best place in PAT... :-)

Thats what to not like in rhat story.
I play fer thick discounted early settlement.
They may eaeily get finding I tjini, but - didnt want to share with funders the potential - maanaged to funance through loan from the man, now through PP, and have a 9m ruling already. Tun said to comply witz arbitrstion ruling.
Risks are there of course, but as they had 3 separater cases, and rhe 2nds final hraring and then ruking is imminent, it must be manageable

Good luck - it certainly looks like a lively one. How is the cash position for day to day (non-arbitration) stuff going forward (presumably no one is going to pay up anytime soon)? Does it have a legal funder for ongoing arbitration expenses?

I think it is irrelevant what the price was 8 years ago...
What matters the sp, the szm of claims, and the chances.
I really like the method when I got am opportinity to withstaw my initial stakes, esp in such a rapid manner, and then anything can haopen, cannot hurt me. Somezhing similar is what I hopr for here, in a few months.

They have 3 arbitration against Tunesia over an oil project. Have just won their smalleet 9m usd with intetests and legal fees. Have anothet one for 130 m usd, eith final hearing in february, and anothet ine for 500m usd, which is expected to proceeed early next year. According zo the Ceo who is professionally an old pro fox in zhis gield, they are "copy paste cases" regarding the legal baclground. A source, who has quite precise info on when the last decision was madeN and will come out, there are negotioations between the parties for early settlement, 120m rejected, 180m on the table. The mc is aroind 25-30m usd, from 0.15-0.20 NOK, went up to 0.3-0.4 just after the dec. ruling, presently at 1 NOK. Ceo and Man just made a dmaller raise, showing confidence in the comapny and the cases.

Yeas there are several "lifecycles" or phases of these cases, with different risks and potential. Maybe at these stages in PAT tats the lowest risk momentum.

Do you follow the Zenith Energy story with Tunesia?

I certainly see the SoC (or even anticipation of the SoC if a date is set) as my cue to exit and reassess. Like any trading idea, it won’t work if everyone has it - PAT wouldn’t then re-rate sufficiently - but many folk will inevitably remain strapped in, some of them will likely add and some newbies will likely be drawn in. Fingers crossed.

Yes agreed good post by Arlington. ( sorry about yesterday I was abit drunk! ).I have about 30% in pat ..the rest is mostly in managed stuff etc. I always thought the WA assets would give me a 5p return if things went belly up in India, that, i am not so sure on now especially with the political situation. I think on soc de-risking is on my radar now.

Arli, thanks for your thoughts, not too much to disagree. After GBU final, where even the defendant alias the rom gov dealt with the case publicly as a done deal, cautioisness is basic for us.
(In case of Rockhopper, it has doubled recently but as I know not due to the annulment request failure, but foe their oil projects.)

Oxus did, as I recall. Oxus and Churchill were both ones where I should have been trading in and out - I did trade a little but basically settled in for the long haul, which was a mistake. With Rockhopper I did trade in and out and that one worked out nicely for me. It is very easy to convince yourself that your company's case is clear cut, but nothing is ever really clear cut in international arbitration.I spent a lot of time (too much time) researching international arbitration cases and statistics and it became clear to me just how often it is better to travel than to arrive, something you could say about AIM generally. This take on AIM annoys the BB uber bulls, but it is based on my own experiences and of late has stood me in good stead.

There have been a few. Ones that immediately come to mind where I had direct involvement are Oxus Gold (ouch), Churchill Mining (ouch) and Rockhopper (nice one) and I was more peripherally interested in Rurelec and Cairn Energy.

Arli, only for educational purposes, could you share with me which were you arbitration plays in the past that you had experiece?
I havent been in these for too long,Less tham two years ago that I bought Burford as a financier, and RML and GRZ which are quite different as they had their ruling on awards by then, and payment was the main problem (from Venezuela). Since then I becoame familiar with many cases.

Very fair points. Whilst the cogs of this arbitration have often turned very slowly ( frustratingly) at times, ( ie, when new mine minister was appointed & elections) it seems well managed.Trading in & out is still on the cards at soc..I suspect it will have a type of 'lassonde curve' effect .

Yes, I am happy with my position, but have enough experience of arbitration shares over the last ten years or so to keep it nuanced and try not to paint too rosy a picture for any arbitration newbies out there. Trading in and out of AIM shares is often safer than just strapping in.

You may be right and I came across many similar characters for istance on Zenith board. There there is no way you may convince some that chances and probabilities should be assesed in the end.
Similarly, what you can do after realizing our limits on having deep knowledge in law and arbitrstion procedures, you try to grab some sure point. The trsck record of the lit financier,,the brand and track record of the famous and succedful law firm, try to assess the character and level of professionaoism of the Ceo, for the sake of ststistic, look after similar cases and try to find identical and different factors. Assess most of the things that could go wrong, etc.
I thought even of another pandemic, which could delay ALL arbitrations again...
I think this trust and ramping stuff is overdiscussed br

Neither am I (though some of my best friends are). I think it is useful to extend the definition beyond the sort of thing you describe - which is basically just noise - to the sort of stuff that may be quite detailed and superficially reasoned but is nevertheless unrelentingly positive and just skips gaily over all the cons - often their problem is simply taking everything that the company and its promoters say to them at face value without trying in any way to read between the lines or look at how similar scenarios panned out in practice (compared to how those companies led their shareholders to believe they would pan out).

Many mistyping again, as usual sorry.
Many times my argument is also that if the expected share price were real, we wouldnt be here at these levels.
When you see a share moving 4 fold in a few weeks, the same applies. Just had a lucky premier plan experience with Zenith Energy. (Had similar close view with GBU deep diving).
I dont believe we may get 10 % of claim around SOC, instead 4-5 % what I hope for (based on other cases as a wrote earlier).
You seem to be eager to br made full convinced, which is not possible. Uncertsinty will be here always. Make your bets accordingly.
