Nearly 500 people registered to watch tomorrow's webinar. That's a lot of interest being shown from around the world.

I note that over 300 people are currently employed by Pantheon to carry out it’s winter drilling/testing programme at Theta W and Talitha.
I’m sure I’m not alone in extending my appreciation and thanks for all their hard work in sub-zero weather (current PB temp -21C), which has ensured that there were no delays in the scheduled work programme till date.

And as we all patiently await news of the Theta W spud and Talitha well test from North Alaska, I wish them all a safe and successful work schedule for the rest of the season.

Review
The Saudi Arabian price war that lasted for several years caused Oil companies to slow down on drilling during that time. The years of low prices caused some bankruptcies especially in the Permian basin shale drillers.
It is one of the principal causes of the price increases because reserves are low. These price increases have been forecast by
Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and many others. As most of us know the Pantheon / Great Bear success in the north slope of Alaska Is important not only because of the billions of barrels in a success case to contribute to world oil production but the cost per barrel to produce can be very low allowing the company to still make a profit if oil prices go lower sometime in the future.
Drilling on pads near the Dalton road
Could allow for year round drilling for the company, another plus.
Finally , the company is taking special care to use “green” or low carbon footprints in drilling and producing the oil. Special care has been taken by the company in respecting Alaska and the land leased to them.
The August 26th 2021 webinar now on YouTube , was the most comprehensive
Coverage of a well by the company, outside consultants and service companies all well established , that I have seen.
I could not think of a thing one could do to get more information about the results. Now with the flow tests and drilling starting right away, in my opinion,
The flow tests and drilling should mirror the results
of the information gathered through the experts efforts. I was happy for Pantheon/ Great Bear to see that they were able to raise more than was requested. I believe it has a lot to do with trust and experience and ability and integrity!
Good luck to all and especially the long termers.

Of course nonsense that noone saw the rebound coming. There have been lots of oil bulls for ages pointing to short supply (shale patch high-grading) and under-estimated demand (emerging markets, freight use and this year aviation). All good for PANR

Possible they may also announce commencement of testing operations at Talitha and hopefully an update of what is being targeted in each zone (with SFS update overdue).

https://youtu.be/XbmY59nLD0gRoughly 900 Barrels per journey. 2 journeys a day maybe? Or is that optimistic. Thanks chaps for the TAPS info.

IMHO we'll have a 7am RNS on Monday confirming the spud of Theta West. The Theta West drill is targeting a humungous 1.4 billion barrels of recoverable oil. Perhaps we'll receive some other info trailing the subjects up for discussion on the webinar at 5pm the same day? Good stuff.

Chris0805,

From the Alkaid Annual Report dated Nov 10, 2021 (there's an identical statement in the Talitha Annual Report too):

"4.TAPS “Hot Tap” Study: This work has been completed. NANA Worley Parsons was engaged to evaluate the technical methodologies required, potential technical constraints, and general commercial framework to construct a hot tap into TAPS. No technical or commercial barriers were identified in the study. Additional information will be needed to evaluate the most cost-effective and appropriate location for the hot tap, depending on the expected location of production from the Alkaid Unit or Talitha Unit."

I've included questions about this study on the collated Qs list (see Qs I.9 & I.10):

PANR are to conduct a feasibility study into a hot tap connection into TAPS, they have yet to undertake this commitment.. it has been mentioned in a recent RNS & was first mentioned a couple of years back. The reason given at the moment is they need to see what flows during the current season, in order to decide where the best place to have the tap in would be before conducting the study. Also probably it's not been at the top of the list with so few staff, all doing so much to progress other projects... :-) GLA C

88e is a very dangerous share, cleverly manipulated by highly skilled speculators in Sydney
IMO it is redolent of the Vancouver exchange of the old days, and should be delisted in London

Anyone, any idea on how much it would be to connect the Alkaid horizontal development wells to TAPS? This must be a medium to long term plan in if no-one wants to take Pantheon out. What's the biggest truck that can take oil up the Dalton Highway? must be many tankers long but can't be efficient when oil could potentially constantly flow. I know they are only trying to prove the concept of the well production, longer term they may use TAPS, same goes for Theta West.
