An usually large group of container ships and oil tankers wait to enter the Port of Los Angeles in October of this year. Supply chain issues were present throughout most of 2021, largely due to a shortage of workers to keep goods moving. However, shipping delays became even worse in the last few months of the year as many retailers rushed to restock inventory before the holiday shopping season. Bottlenecks like this one at the Port of LA led to subsequent congestion at the ports of Savannah and New York / New Jersey.

The Blue Grotto or Blue Cave, Croatian locals called Modra špilja, is a waterlogged sea cave located in a small bay called Balun on the east side of the island of Biševo and about 4.5 nautical miles from the island of Vis. The island of Biševo is only 6 km² almost uninhabited.
Biševo has also beautiful sandy beaches but the top attraction is Blue Cave. The actual entrance to the cave is positioned on its south side. The opening that is resembling in a vault on the roof of a grotto. The sunlight enters the cave through a hole in the rock and creates an astonishing blue gleaming effect all around the cave.

Colorful, metal-roofed industrial buildings line the coast of Tokai, Japan. The city’s economy is dominated by a massive steel mill, a portion of which is seen at the bottom of this Overview. Nippon Steel, the company that owns the mill, has an annual production of more than 47 million tons of steel across its various facilities. Steel—consisting of alloys of iron and other elements, primarily carbon—is a major component in buildings, infrastructure, tools, ships, automobiles, appliances, and weapons.

The Meteora monasteries complex is the second most important orthodox site in Greece, after Mount Athos. Unlike Mount Athos, though, Meteora monasteries can be visited by women. Well, for reaching some of them you have to be in good physical shape, as you’ll need to climb lots of stairs to get there. The good news is that many of these monasteries are fairly easy to reach, even though they seem inaccessible at first sight.

The Peñol-Guatapé Reservoir, also called the Guatapé Dam, is located east of Medellín, Colombia. With its construction in the 1970s, the city center of El Peñol (founded in 1714) was demolished and relocated. The dam generates hydroelectric power and the reservoir serves as a popular site for water sports, boating, and sailing.









Sun City, Arizona, is a retirement community located within the Phoenix metropolitan area. It has a population of roughly 38,000 and an adjoining sister city — Sun City West — which houses an additional 25,000 residents. When Sun City opened on January 1, 1960, it attracted a crowd of more than 100,000 onlookers and the "futuristic development" was featured on the cover of Time magazine.
