The Port of Savannah, on the coast of Georgia, is the fourth-largest seaport in the United States. In recent weeks, it has faced a consistent backlog of roughly 20 ships awaiting berth space as a result of a significant increase of incoming container ships. The logjam in Savannah reflects similar congestion at other large U.S. ports - including Los Angeles, Long Beach, and New York / New Jersey - which experts believe is the result of many retailers rushing to restock inventory before the holidays.

Lava flows into the Atlantic Ocean on the ever-expanding coastline of La Palma in the Canary Islands. After three weeks, eruptions continue from the Cumbre Vieja Volcano and this low-angle satellite image captures the lava field that has scorched through the landscape. Lava now covers more than 1,000 acres (420 hectares) and has forced the evacuation of at least 6,000 residents.

Aogashima Island, located in the Philippine Sea and connected to Japan, is considered one of the most interesting places in the world with its interesting structure.





During the Hundred Years War (1337-1453), someone had this castle built into a rocky ravine just outside the village of Bouziès in France. It is popularly known as the Château des Anglais (English castle), and it served as a refuge to protect the population in the event of an attack.

Himalayan griffon vultures have adapted a set of false eyes which are actually just its plumage arranged in a certain way, with what looks like bald spots making up the “eyes” and the bridge of the false nose that is actually the neck.

The wreck of the SS Maheno can be found on the east coast of Fraser Island in Queensland, Australia. The ship — which was washed ashore by a cyclone in 1935 — was an ocean liner that made regular crossings between New Zealand and Australia in the early 20th century. The 5,000-ton steel-hulled ship has slowly disintegrated over the years and remains a popular tourist attraction.
