'I do believe that when the depressed market ends, Ovoca will be one of the best placed company
of its peers; stronger for having survived the downturn, and cash rich to capitalize on opportunities. I look for-
ward to being there at that point with you.
Sincerely,
Mikhail Mogutov,
Chairman'

I've posted a new thread as this one is Ten years old and does not reflect today's massive discount to cash and shares in POLY.

£4.6M market cap,yet have no debt, tiny payables, a mountain of cash, plus a massive heap of shares in POLYMETAL (market cap £2.3BN)

Add that up at today's POLY share price.!!!

Then throw in another $5 M due from a debt owed to them

Then add in a huge acreage of Gold bearing ground.

The cash and shares are worth around £20M alone.

It's got a daft valuation at this time.

No risk of de listing as they can't get 75% of the shares.

Plus any news of a j/v or sale will see them rocket.

Overheads are low and the POLY divideds cover a large chunk of them.

30% of the shares are held by tiny holders all over the world and most of those are in the top draw and never traded.

Yes I also think we've picked some up for a song at this price.
I think the company were very canny, too, to sell one of their assets in exchange for shares in Polymetal as well, woodfire.
The gold price is sure to have its ups and downs but I believe that the gold mining sector is in recovery mode at last!
A few quid in one or two like this,is the way I'm going to play it .
Good luck.

Looking back through the trade pages on can see that very few shares have hit the market in the last 12 months.

Any real buying will see this share move towards its correct price.

In effect your buying something for nothing.

Have an idea this share could 20 bag if gold doubles.

It's very cheap to mine in Russia right now.

Low oil and very low currency.

Now back to this company.

You can buy cash and share assets for around 20P in the pound. ( shares are as good as cash as the company is valued at 2.3BN)

That is pure value :

Then on top you get the gold acreage in for free.

Years ago my main investment was in a company where directors owned 88%.

I was handed them as part of a 1 for 4 share split and they cost me 4P each.

Roll on 12 years.

In 2008 shareholders were bought out at £8.50P and share.!!!

Check out what % of this company is owned by the directors and their associates then realise that there is no way anyone else will share in it's income and conclude that to most of us these shares are worthless.

I have no idea if any have been sold but you can work it out

First their Euro value on 30th June 2015 is in the accounts

Then look back at the share price at that date (and exc rate)

Then do the sums

That will tell you how many shares they had

wood fire

I understood they had 775,000 shares and you're right the dividends were 753,000 US $.
I was just trying to establish if the quantities had changed at all.
It is a good asset,to have in my opinion.
Thanks for pointing this out.

That's just the dividends. (Polymetal)

The amount in € held for sale was 11.582,000

Price then in uk pounds per share = £5.14P

Price now in uk pounds per share = £6.44P

Accounts show €20 net assets

That is now £20M uk

Plus you have the goldfield valued at Zero

Plus you have $5 from the loan that they gave that defaulted

Now one can see why the directors are buying for 20P in the pound. !!
