27/9/2019 17:23 | Lots of excitement and sudden interest in MTRO, following Holdings RNS during last hour of trading to close up by 16%, could reverberate within the Sector and hopefully have positive effect here too. | mazarin

12/4/2019 21:27 | Surprising that today’s 6% share price increase hasn’t stimulated any comment here so far. Several Institutional trades appear to have gone through over the last few days pushing the closing share price above £4.39, I’m assuming they’re most likely connected to the recent merger with Charter Court Financial Services. | mazarin
10/3/2019 11:34 | So merger to be announced ! Is this why the price has rushed downwards last week. MM's playing games ?? should go well above £4 now | 9degrees
05/2/2019 23:27 | Not much traffic around for this stock i guess...Have been weighing up the pros and cons between this and lloyds, any thoughts out there? | flyinggogo
01/12/2018 13:27 | I have just done some maths based around the recent Q3 guidance and have come up with dividend rising by upto 30% post 2018 (depending on assumptions) which at today's price would take it to 4.75%ish yield. One thing I seem to be missing is that they don't appear to hold cash on the balance sheet. Have I just missed something or are all retained profits leveraged to plough back into growing net lending? | tomcorvid
24/11/2018 09:43 | The B of E and Govt have the tools to stimulate the economy if Brexit does cause the chaos everyone expects (such chaos isn't actually guaranteed). We'd go back to 0.5% interest, corporation tax is being cut. The strength of the US and relative weakness of UK means good quality businesses are getting picked off at attractive prices. Look at private equity taking the opportunity to snap up decent UK businesses, recently Esure for example. It's not just UK banks that might pounce, Shawbrook went to PE. OSB just might go the same way. Some saying buying on the possibility of a takeover is nuts, but I'm happy to receive an attractive dividend in the meantime. | peaksntroughs
23/11/2018 12:04 | Agreed price looks low, and Questor re-iterated its recommendation today. However the outlook for bank shares is overcast by the likelihood of rising interest rates and the possibility of rise in bad loans due to effect of trade wars, higher interest rates and a Brexit no-deal. Hard one to call...... Of course there is possibility of an opportunistic bid in the short term, but bigger banks may be a bit wary. All IMHO, I am currently following the old farmers' rule - if in doubt do nout. | bigbertie
23/11/2018 10:51 | topped up again today. PE and share price is just ridiculously low IMO. Political uncertainty overhangs UK plc of course and no one knows where Brexit is going, but in the long term looking at the history of challenger banks - they get picked off and taken over. I'm holding until OSB meets the same fate. | peaksntroughs |
