I've bought 177,000 shares in Ormonde @ 1.40. Currently sitting - £450ish down.

I'm new to trading, but after reading about this company and looking at past share price, I couldn't understand why the price was so low.

What are your thoughts? Hold out and ride the wave or cut my losses?

ORM is not a good share for "trading", because it's often illiquid and the spread between buy price and sell price is wide. This means if you buy one day and sell the next, you will make an exaggerated loss.

The fact that the price was once a lot higher is not a reason in itself to buy. The share price went down to around 0.5p, because of the operational failures of the board. The tungsten mine was completely mis-handled and sold at a big loss.

Currently, the assets of the company are worth perhaps 1.5 - 2p per share. (This gives no negative value for the past dire operational history of the company.)

If I was in your shoes, I would hold! It makes no sense to sell just after you've bought, simply because the price has gone down. There have been no developments since you bought. Nothing significant has changed.

If you want to become a serious investor/trader you need to get used to sitting on losses. No one has perfect timing or anything close to it. It's really important to become emotionally detached about loss, otherwise you will suffer too much.

I hope this is of some help. Have a great day and best of luck with ORM and your other investments.

I spoke with a very senior highly renowned stockbroker in Dublin this evening on Ormonde. He told me that there are very very significant developments coming down the tracks with them. The AGM is expected to announce massive plans. With Such developments he said they see the share price going to .08c - .10c very shortly???

Deffo gold resources from previous RNSs. Hope the acquisition will be the big ONE. We will see whether the chairman stick to his words about acquisition that add SUBSTANTIAL value to shareholders. Not long now.

Jonathan Henry, Ormonde's Executive Chairman, commented:

"I am very pleased to report that a fresh look at Ormonde's Spanish gold exploration projects has highlighted the potential to build on high grade gold mineralisation which was intersected by previous drilling campaigns. We have identified several targets within the project portfolio which can be advanced, to the benefit of shareholders in a positive gold market environment, with low cost work programmes, while continuing to conserve the Company's cash balances for driving value in potential resource sector M&A opportunities.

In this regard, Ormonde's management team has several very interesting options under consideration. Gold projects have been a key focus of these efforts, together with opportunities across a range of commodities, global jurisdictions and risk profiles. The priority remains on concluding a resource sector transaction which would add substantial value for Ormonde's shareholders."

I think share price greatly undervalued. Hopefully, a good and potentially prosperous announcement will come fortwith from the AGM to be held this month!

Gold is at an all time high.

The tungsten mine was sold at a very good time, coming before Covid and the economic downturn! Tungsten continues to remain dirt cheap. Well done to the board!

I have an inkling that Ormonde are going to announce new gold mining operations to take place.

It's interesting to note that the biggest gold mine is in Siberia, in the biggest country in the world, Russia! The owners are building an airstrip to facilitate the mine, and are worth billions.

Gold is one of those precious metals that continue to break price records per ounce.

Kind regards,

Paul

The Company anticipates that the meeting will be held in November, with the exact date being dependent on progress on certain outstanding CSD related matters including necessary legislative changes and on a form of circular, for the use of individual issuers, being made available to the Company by market participant working groups engaged in the CSD migration project. The Company will announce the date for the AGM and EGM as soon as possible.

We will hear about the acquisition soon enough. AGM/EGM should be this month.

Cjohn, if you want to sell the remainder of your stock looks like TA is buying, if you speak to your broker maybe you can sell to him and save on dealing fees?

Hi jbe81, a very kind remark and sensible advice. Thank you.

I put in a high limit price for selling yesterday and was surprised that the share price hit this limit. So I'm out.

Very good luck to all holders.

Cjohn, have you taken the opportunity to sell some more?

Yes, I've off-loaded a few more, jbe81. I'm happy to sell at 100%+ profit. (I do recognise upwards momentum here - may be selling early - but there are plenty of deep value opportunities to re-invest in currently.)

An RTO is an interesting idea and makes very good sense. And could realise further value for shareholders.

But so far all we know is that an acquisition is under consideration. Unless they take on debt, it's going to be a pretty small acquisition, as they need to keep some cash to pay all running costs. If they do take on debt, this will increase the risk markedly to shareholders.

However, in view of the excitement around mining stocks at the moment, any half-viable acquisition may cause the price to spike up.

Unfortunately they running a mine that are loss making. €36m historic loss + €5m+ in the bank, if they RTO a gold mining company...that loss can use to reduce tax payment in future. Well...we all hope the RTO will multibags the current price.

ALL companies want to create substantial value for shareholders. That is what a company is for.

But just saying it doesn't bring it any closer.

Take a look at ORM's balance sheet, at the item for Retained Losses: which currently stand at 36 million euros. That tells the real story: ORM has been an outstanding value-destruction machine over the last few years. The handling of the tungsten mine demonstrated serious operational flaws and lack of ability. Most of the board from a few months ago are still in place.

As a 5 bagger, ORM would have a market cap of 35 million sterling. The chances of ORM supporting that market cap with operational success is very slight indeed.

That is not to say that hype on twitter and novice or naive investors won't bid this up to absurd levels completely unjustified by any economic reality.

I shall be delighted if they do.
