21/7/2018 19:43 | Nobody should be buyingnopti for an Sbtx divi. I'd prefer Opti to hold the investment personally and if the human trials work it adds to the value. They have the share value in the books at cost so until they sell it doesn't attract a tax payment. morw to Opti than meets the eye. We could have a Bb for each deal or strain and it would still get busy. Let's see what the next news and focus is. S | ![]() shrewdmole
21/7/2018 19:32 | >> shrewd Do you know if it was human skin transplanted on to Scid mice? If so, that model is very good. | ![]() nobbygnome
21/7/2018 19:29 | It doesn't matter what you call it. If a company gives away an asset valued at (say) £10m, then that company will be worth £10m less. | ![]() someuwin
21/7/2018 19:18 | I think you may be confusing a normal divi with in-specie. I don't expect the same reaction post divi. | elrico
21/7/2018 19:17 | Guys lets not get ahead of ourselves. It's been a well researched and well considered board. Soh will do what's right for both companies he's stated as such. Shrewdie | ![]() shrewdmole
21/7/2018 19:13 | That's true the value of opti would drop by 11.75p but what price would opti's shares have risen to to reflect the investment in SBTX! | wreckage
21/7/2018 19:04 | ...And in the above example OPTI shares would fall by 11.75p to reflect the reduced SBTX holding. i.e no overall gain to OPTI shareholders. Worse still, OPTI would have reduced exposure to any further SBTX gains going further. The idea of SBTX dividend to OPTI shareholders is misplaced imo and I hope it never happens. | ![]() someuwin
21/7/2018 18:53 | Let’s assume following successful skin trials SBTX reaches a market cap of £50 million. That equates to a share price of 42p. Let’s then assume OPTI sell half (21%) of their holding to an institution at 40p raising £10M which is then distributed to OPTI shareholders as a cash dividend. That would equate to 11.75p per share. In this example OPTI retains 21% which would benefit from further growth in SBTX’s share price. | ![]() parob
21/7/2018 18:35 | Risky My understanding is that the tests to date have been done and proven to be effective on human skin samples. Whilst I'm sure you can't replicate the actual human skin on a living being that suggests the science works but to maybe a variable degree. S | ![]() shrewdmole
21/7/2018 18:17 | Some people will be tempted to top slice following this recent growth however we know that the SBTX dividend will be payed out eventually and the more Opti you hold the more SBTX you will get. Therefore I will not be selling a single penny even though on paper i am showing a considerable profit.Imo a portion of SBTX shares will be distributed around the time of clinical results over at skin as this is when real value will be created as the opportunity evolves from simply a concept. Of course this will depend on the results of the study but the science already presented definitely hints towards success. | ![]() riskybusiness1

21/7/2018 14:19 | I don't know what the chairman knows but I've got just over 900,000. he needs to get his hand in his pocket!! That's tongue in cheek btw. Been hard to keep the faith at times but looking forward to the ride ahead. S | ![]() shrewdmole
21/7/2018 13:04 | The party hasn't even started yet. It's been a long time coming, but I think we all know what's on the way and it appears the Chairman does too as he's accumulated 0.44% of shares in the company (so far). | ![]() parob
21/7/2018 12:58 | The place I first heard of Opti was known as the Penny Share Letter. It's now been rebranded as Technology Profits Confidential. Sean Keyes who runs it, is still V V enthusiastic on Opti's prospects and still rates it as a buy. Funny enough, he only mentions Slimbiome and LP-LDL, but doesn't even mention Sweetbiotix!! As several folk on here are saying (me included), this alone could well be a blockbuster, and I don't mean like a video store chain, as that didn't do too well!! John | ![]() 2350220
21/7/2018 12:49 | Thanks for the comments John - glad you enjoy the blog - it's a bit of a tabloid compared to Elrico's broadsheet blog, but keeps me amused and I've found writing stuff down has helped me make decisions. I totally agree that OPTI has the potential for so much more, but then the universe is quite large so the stratosphere isn't very far away in that context ;) £5 would be a dream - and I'm hoping we will get there in 5 years or so, as it would allow me to go on a 4-day week! Mind you - I might be tempted to hold even at that level... | speccy1
21/7/2018 11:18 | Judi Totally agree we could see some wild swings as the big boys try to get orders filled. They can't fill the orders at current levels so at some point I expect a real spike to attract profit taking. Problem is there's so much stock held by strong lth's I'm not even sure that would work. And then there is the question of how many big buyers there are and how much they want. S | ![]() shrewdmole
21/7/2018 11:11 | Anyone following Pure Tech Health (PRTC)focused on the Brain Immune Gut (BIG) axis. Some similar focus to Opti and although US based it is London quoted. I bought a few this past week. Interested to know if anyone else has a stake there? Jock | jockmartin9
21/7/2018 10:19 | Shrewd, It’s all begging to look a lot rosier that’s for sure Shares never go up in a straight line though, so I’m expecting more fun and games along the way from the crooked spivs in the big smoke But Opti has the potential not just to be big, but monstrous imho | ![]() judijudi
21/7/2018 10:17 | My observation re the Cadbury news after catching on some reading.1. I think it's unlikely its Sweetbiotix (looks like an inferior product to me, ie. not as sweet as sugar, some commenting on aftertaste, no change in calories count, no mention of Pre-biotic or Microbiome modulating properties, CEO when asked what replaced the sugar said SOME plant based fibre)2. SoH would have been aware of the technology beforehand through patent filings, evidently this has not affected his excitement about Sweetbiotix (which has increased with every interview)3. We have an Sugar replacement ARMS race with Food and beverage corporates which is about to go nuclear- we could not be better placed with potential the best product in the market and deals lined up.4.The 30% reduction numbers are just the opening salvo, I believe many competitors will fall by the wayside is they try to reduce by 50% and beyond due to a poor taste profile and structural stability- in that even even those competitors may be forced to switch to Sweetbiotix to keep up with the competitors who use it. | ![]() trotterstrading
21/7/2018 09:49 | Not even out the starting blocks yet. Opti is only just becoming noticed IMHO. What's confirmation of a signed deal with a major global for sweetbiotix worth not just to the share price but the greater exposure that will generate. S | ![]() shrewdmole
21/7/2018 09:13 | Speccy, I really like reading your blog, and it's great to hear how well you are doing, and just how many Opti shares you've got (and a better overall price than me too). I found it funny that you used the word Stratospheric, in your latest upbeat article. I can see why, but I genuinely believe that we are only at the Countdown stage as yet. Don't think that we've even really Launched of the pad YET. Genuinely Not knocking you, as I do love your candid updates. I think that we are only just seeing the start of the re-rating IMHO. My personal goal, in our current form with all three businesses under the Opti umbrella, is £5. But there's an awful lot of behind-the-scenes stuff going on that by the time £5 comes a knocking, who knows where Opti will be in its business model?? Keep up the good work Speccy, John | ![]() 2350220
21/7/2018 09:08 | Judi Sorry if I didn't make it clear. Sweetbiotix wasn't even on the radar really when I first invested. At each stage of testing its been a nice surprise that its progressed well and now does seem to be the cherry on top but at the time this strain was by far the riskiest and I believe soh has said as such in the past. Obviously that is very different now. What keeps amazing me is the multitude of deals, applications and potential revenue streams it's so hard to keep track. The global scale of partners we already know about is amazing. Now I wonder what other strains are being worked on pyschobiotics next? I love the fact Opti is a tight ship but we all know the won't be standing still and there will be new strains and re engineered strains coming that will attract more and more partners.
