I just can't see this Cadbury thing being us. IF the calorific content in the new chocolate is the same as the old, then surely the motivation behind this is to dodge the sugar tax? i.e. "The calorie content remains similar between the two bars, but the sugar content has dropped from 56g per 100g in the original bar to 39g per 100g in the new version."
The Sweetbiotix fibre is calorie and sugar free and has to be a better healthy alternative.

SOH has mentioned 'gummies' on a number of occasions...perhaps a red herring, but the BBC article today says of Mondelez:"Next year it also plans to reduce the amount of sugar in Wine Gums and Jelly Babies."

11/07/2017The study was carried out by The Flavour and Sensory Science Centre at the University of Reading who tested six customised oligosaccharides developed from high intensity sweeteners which were compared to sucrose. The study used a trained expert panel of ten experienced panellists and showed:--- The customised oligosaccharides showed sweetness of between 140X and 223X that of sucrose at equivalent concentrations-- Customised oligosaccharides derived from Stevia showed a large reduction in bitterness whilst not affecting its sweetnessEndOpens up the door for speculation but to the obvious links. However, I just don't think it is. I know SOH is aware of this development, but won't be drawn on it.

Sweetbiotix is definitely a plant derived prebiotic fibre so it could be the product in the Cadbury's chocolate. In fact the definition of prebiotic is that it is plant derived fibre which feeds the good bacteria in the gut!

The following is from the OPTI website when discussing sweetbiotix. Customised oligosaccharides derived from Stevia showed a large reduction in bitterness whilst not affecting its Sweetness.

Stevia is plant based is it not, so perhaps!!!
