The human microbiome is essential for our health. Can farmers exploit the plant microbiome to increase crop yields?

elrico - There you go again. LOL. Something I said?
owenmo - Thanks for the history lesson. However, everybody knows Boycott was an excellent batsman in his time ;) and sadly for you, I won't go away.

The truth is gentlemen. If any of your slurs were true, you'd pay no attention. The fact is you know my record, and you know I might well be correct here as well. Frightening isn't it.

Look at the chart. Winter is coming............

But GoFigure for example has what other diet regimes do not have...slimbiome. Prof Halford of Liverpool Uni believes is key in tackling obesity.

"offering all sorts of weird and wonderful products and regimes."

Another thing to consider. To the consumer Opti are offering just another weird and/or wonderful product in a crowded market. Imagine the marketing spend for long term success?

Sienna - It's not insight, it's a fact. I don't disagree that slimming products are big business, they have been for many years. It's a hugely crowded market though.

Slimming products just don't work in the long run. Healthy diets and exercise are the key. That's why the West is getting fatter. It's a worry.

What perplexes me slightly is why OptiBiotix appear to be targeting the Asian market. In general I would have thought that e.g. Japanese diets were far healthier than Western diets?

In Ref to the last line of post 772:I think you'll find 10's (if not 100's) of millions of people around the world don't consider the solution to be as simple as you Michael - hence the large number of financially successful diet companies there are (and have been) out there, offering all sorts of weird and wonderful products and regimes. But I guess a large percentage of the world population just don't have your insight and will power... hey Michael? : )CheersSienna

OK michael - thanks, but before I answer your questions, allow me to address your answers.

As well as SOH expanding on the Jim Laird departure in his email to John Henry, SOH explained the same to me today, not by email but by text, which explains the departure of Jim Laird was planned in the summer. It is upto you to decide if you believe in this as a truth or a blatant lie and risk Jim Laird stating otherwise and the damage this would do to SOH credibility.

Per does not have the issue of establishing relation all over again, you miss the point. As good as Jim was, his reach was not as extensive as that of Pers. Per also brings with him an established relationship across all food groups within OPTI's global ambitions. You missed this, or chose to ignore it?

Onto your questions

Q1: SOH states by YE 2018. My view is SOH is understating because he want to over perform. You need to remember, or believe, OPTI cash requirements are c£85-100k pm and given OPTI don't need logistics, warehousing or expensive office space, this is not expected to change a great deal as OPTI expand. Slimbiome is profitable and growing; In fact, I will put my head on the block and suggest Slimbiome will prove OPTI profitable by YE2017.

Q2: No I do not, nor can I

Q3: As was explained to me by Max and SOH, funding was needed for the excellent start to 2017. You had a clue as to why in the RNs which clearly stated OPTI are about to sign with a retailer which will stock GoFigure in 200 of its best located stores. Don't forget, GoFigure will also be in Revital stores and the Icelandic pharma, so by my estimation, GoFigure will be in 230+ new stores in Q1. Not bad at all when you consider this is all from word of mouth. You also need to consider where OPTI is with Tata? The Slimbiome IP will be in both food supplements and food. Would it not be prudent to ensure you have sufficient working capital? Again, you either believe what is stated or you do not, the choice is yours.

Now I answered your questions, it my turn.

1) When will OptiBiotix turn a profit to justify a £50m market cap?
2) Do you think I can influence the share price?
3) Can you address post 777 i.e. working capital?

That's fair isn't it. Three questions each.

Q1. I had a good long hard think about that decision. I decided that I rather like discussing this company. It's an interesting case study. Besides I can't influence the share price. What's the big deal? It should help you. Always look at the pros and cons.
Q2. Don't know don't care. Sacking a CD after such a short tenure is a very bad sign though. You don't part ways with good staff, you find roles for them. If he's established good working relationships then clients are going to question why he's not at Opti anymore? I would. Doesn't add up does it?
Q3. Looks good on paper, but then so did Jim Laird's. Problem he's got is establishing relationships all over again. In the real world, he's not representing his old companies he representing Opti. He might get a foot in the door but it's the bit that follows that's difficult. Jim Laird had a good CV, but he's gone. Incidentally, you're correct that his departure would have been agreed a considerable time ago. This is even more worrying. Are you telling me that he got the job done in less than 1.5 years? Ludicrous.

If I've got it wrong I'll happily come back and say congratulations, otherwise I'll just say nothing.

Genuinely I wish you all good luck, but that's me done on this thread.

Michael.

....

Q1: Why did you GO BACK ON YOUR WORD and come back?
Q2: Was Jim Laird best suited as CD or is Per well suited to OPTI global ambitions?
Q3: What do you think of our new CD CV?

Risky - michaelmouse has already demonstrated he has a knowledge-gap in the several areas, including, accounting, read accounts, business development, planning and growing a business, executing a business plan, global strategy, business space, JV's, cost reduction, cost sharing, etc, etc! He still thinks a demerger will result in major dilution of OPTI shares and I dare say he remains confident OPTI are running out of money, even though I have demonstrated he is wrong on both counts. It at least explain why he has a habit of investing in frauds....2 by my count and another with very questionable business model...will it turn out to be a hatrick of frauds for the guru?

Michaelmouse has not yet worked out nobody really cares for his opinion, we are just humouring him out of pity...OK, it's fun!

"I think you need to learn about working capital in relation to growing businesses."

From the October update:-

"OptiBiotix's weight management division is now profitable with growing sales of GoFigure products and great consumer feedback and reorders."

Ummm.... So not that profitable that it can generate cash to plow back into the business then? Odd? What was the additional investment £75,000? That's not much to find out of sales for working capital purposes. Sell stock, use the money to buy more stock. Simple. Very odd?

'FFS. LOL. If demand was so great they wouldn't have to pump money into it would they? Think about it.'I think you need to learn about working capital in relation to growing businesses. The investment is a very good sign for what's to come for go figure - the very least financially rewarding of the multiple opportunities.

Spartacus (Kirk Douglas) is actually alive and well. He has just turned 100 in fact. He has a great microbiome apparently which keeps his vitality going.
