09/8/2020 20:29 | All positive here | k0sh
09/8/2020 20:27 | First job of the day, print off the leads/queries from the portsls, 2nd, morning meeting where the leads/queries are handed out to be answered. 3rd, follow up on yesterday's viewings and give feedback to sellers/landlords. Never ending. | k0sh
07/8/2020 18:11 | Most agents have difficult enough job answering emails let alone dealing with enquiries/leads from the portals Just take a look at Connells latest accounts I sent out a specific requirement recently to a number of agents Got 1 response He got the instruction Guess its just a selling point to hook an instruction As for agents using these remote 24/7 front of house third party call centres as gatekeepers whose response to any question is templated with Can we offer you a free valuation is enough to make you run a mile | hillofwad
07/8/2020 15:24 | I just got fed up with rubbish Zoopla leads. "Just curious" val requests, total wate of time. Just speaking from personal experience | k0sh
07/8/2020 15:06 | Just checked my local region. All the agents advertising with OTMP have more properties for sale than the Connells subsidiary. Despite the Connells subsidiary having a greater office space and much greater footfall. Sad indictment of not going with all the portals. Imagine the conversation: And why should I sign with you Mr agent, you seem to be not advertising where the punters are looking! | k0sh
07/8/2020 13:26 | About 20% to be precise and just managed to get rid of my last lot Good luck with them Have you seen RMs rise during the same timescale? Not doom mongering but saying it as it is You seem to be labouring under some grave misunderstanding that they are going to pull in a big fish If they don't they are always going to play third fiddle I always hoped Axel Springer were going to take them out (still might)Its going to be portal wars with OTMP running out of bullets | hillofwad
07/8/2020 11:40 | The stock has gone up around 30% since your doom mongering, so the stock market disagrees with you. Zoopla is useless outside London. | k0sh
06/8/2020 21:02 | Otmp does not need PB, no one does. Leads are coming through and the share graph is showing it. Connells lost their case, so were obviously in the wrong. No business needs clients that squirm from paying. What would connells do if a client tried to get away not paying their fee? Take them to court, like any company. | k0sh
06/8/2020 16:08 | "Purplebricks not worth bothering with" Purplebricks have over 17,000 instructions .That would present a huge increase in traffic to the site and a pump primer Priceless You can't be serious Connells after OTMP dragged them through the court Maybe you are not acquainted with the hitory CWD were originally behind RM and enjoy a very attractive package "Only one thing matters to EA's, leads." Precisely! | hillofwad
06/8/2020 11:23 | Purple bricks not worth bothering with. Countrywide and Connels will come knocking on the door. I am familiar with one franchisee spitting feathers at being tied into OTMP, guess what, when they could have walked away, they stayed in. Only one thing matters to EA's, leads. When the Branch Managers are not selling and customers going with portals you are not on with, then that will filter up the management chain and make the right business decision. OTMP was useless until about January 2019, when they started giving me more leads than Zoopla (and they were valued at around 2bn when bought out) Since Jan 2019, otmp has been improving. Now that the cash burn issue has been dispensed with, this will got a re-rating. | k0sh
06/8/2020 09:46 | Well it's kill or cure .Dice roll .Another cashburn with TV advertising Agents enticed in with generous incentives .Many of the old guard disappearing after contract ends Just goes to show all the stamping of feet against RM by agents, very few have left They have had plenty of time to attract some of the big fish ,Purplebricks Countrywide LSL . Burned their bridges with Connells Without any of these always be playing third fiddle | hillofwad
05/8/2020 21:19 | getting re-rated slowly. Wait till people wake up to the potential. | k0sh
31/7/2020 13:11 | Nice quiet board I seem to remember the Rightmove board being similar many years ago. | hibberts
09/7/2020 15:17 | Clive Beattie Podcast interview | semaj2000
03/7/2020 11:05 | Clive beattie presenting at this event next week: hxxps://melloevents. | k0sh
29/6/2020 07:49 | That is called the tail wagging the dog Estate agents look to buy other estate agents . If a tie up with a third party service provider is likely to cause problems and frustrate a potential sale of someone's business-all that means is that they are less likely to agree a contract with OTMP They have shot themselves in the foot .No wonder they have failed miserably to get the big boys on board Similarly offering new entrants better terms than those who originally kicked the affair off has also created ill -feeling amongst their clients. Many voting with their feet when contracts expire | hillofwad
28/6/2020 11:11 | So you are saying that a company buying another does not need to do due diligence? Strange! Fail to plan and you plan to fail. | k0sh
28/6/2020 09:54 | Disagree Corporate estate agents MO often includes gobbling up other businesses who may or might not be contracted elsewhere to other portals That is not Connell's fault No wonder Countrywide have given them a wide berth You have to give some sort of flexibility with your customers All it has done is create ill feeling ,lost a major client The rules have changed since too Dont forget there will be individuals at Connells who move elsewhere Mix in the fact they applied handcuffs to original participants offered better deals to new comers All it has served to do is alienate a whole section of their client base Not a clever thing to do | hillofwad
27/6/2020 21:38 | A contract is a contract, they won. Connells must have been the ones in the wrong. If you don't hold people to contracts, it gets about and no one takes you seriously. Otmp had no other option. | k0sh
27/6/2020 19:07 | "Estate agents regularly take their clients to court if they do not pay up. It's business. It wasn't that simple it was OTMP rigidly applying the 2 portal role on Connells s who just happened to acquired a new business be signed up elsewhere All OTMP did was lose a TOP 5 agent and alienated others Nothing gained whatsoever | hillofwad
27/6/2020 14:14 | Estate agents regularly take their clients to court if they do not pay up. It's business. | k0sh
27/6/2020 13:25 | LOL Little more than feelings as there was a huge expensive court case with Connells which ended in an farce .WTF wants to do business with a service provider who pursues you through the court needlessly just to make a point . Pyrrhic victory CWD enjoys a very attractive deal with RM Why change? They havent got Bricks either where they have had plenty of opportunity I am invested hoping that someone else will get involved and shake a little life | hillofwad |
